Has anyone read Out of Oz?

I just finished it and I am more than a little confused. Don't get me wrong, I loved all of the books in the series, but I feel like "WTF just happened??" Did anyone else feel this way?

Re: Has anyone read Out of Oz?

  • I read it.  Eh. The end was terribly confusing, I reread the last part several times and I'm still not quite sure what happend.  Oh well.

  • Me either.

    **SPOILER ALERT**

I know Rain turned green, Tip turned out to be Ozma T, and Brr is now Throne Minister. But who was Glinda talking to in Southstairs? DId Elphaba really come back and I missed it, or what?
  • Yeah, I don't know about that part.  I'm thinking she may have died in Southstairs and then saw Elphaba in a vision awaiting her in the afterlife, maybe?

    I'm not sure.

  • Yep, it's the 4th (and hopefully final) book in the Wicked Years series.

I didn't even think of that. I like it, I'll go with it.

    Did you not enjoy them?

I read Wicked and found it overall entirely too politcally driven.  Are the others like that, too?

<div>They get more and more politically driven as they go on.  I enjoy them because I enjoy all things Wizard of Oz related, but they are somewhat dry and take me awhile to get into them.  I prefer books that are a little more fast paced.  Plus, I'm not really sure how much further he'd be able to take this storyline.</div>

Okay, thanks!  I won't try to read them then.  I love the Wizard of Oz and wanted so badly to love these books, but they just aren't my cup of tea.
