RSVP

As much as I would love everyone to attend both my ceremony and reception, there is more room in my reception room than in the ceremony room. I was wondering if if would be an option to give the person an option to attend only the reception? and what would your wording be if you thought it was ok

so far my rsvp say

I need a head count for my ceremony so I know for sure that we will all fit and wont have to move to our ugly back up room, We were told the room we want fits 150 but in reality it fits 110 so we are just trying to see if we can stay in the original room. problem just came up so we have just started the process of trying to fix it.

Re: RSVP

  • So I'm breaking one of our unwritten rules here and bringing up a dead thread, but I wanted to address this.

I checked my PMs today (haven't checked in forever) and saw this waiting from me from OP:

good for you for planning a wedding in 4 months i'm planning a long distance one... you don't have to be so rude I was just asking a question if you had nothing helpful to say why did u even respond

OP, you completely misunderstood my comment and overreacted by sending me a PM.  First, I had plenty of helpful things to say as making 3 replies in your thread should show.  Secondly, I have no idea why you found my comment rude.   It was in agreement to J&K's reply that you (at the time) did have plenty of time to work things out.  I made the 4 month comment to explain that I've been there, done that so it's totally possible to plan an entire wedding and/or make changes to the current plan in that amount of time or even less.  I wasn't being rude at all.

For future reference, the PM setup on The Knot isn't that great and most posters don't use it or check their PMs frequently.  It's fairly standard practice around here to let the receiver know that one has been sent as a heads-up.
