Staten Island Hilton Brides

Hello,
I was wondering if any brides had their wedding reception, or are planning to have their reception, at the Staten Island Hilton- Nicotra's ballroom?
If so, how many people are you having and which room(s) did you choose for the reception?
I'm planning a wedding for around 75 people and i'm wondering if anyone had their reception in the smaller rooms?
Thank you- I appreciate your responses and all feedback! =)

I had my reception there.  Everything was fantastic - from the food to the service.  We had the larger room w/ the window wall though (220 people).

The room with the large windows is beautiful! Thank you for your responses and positive feedback..
'm going to take a look at the place once more since i'll be in a different room due to having a smaller guest list.
Is the Hilton mostly known for larger weddings? I haven't lived in S.I. too long, but I want to have the reception here (after getting married in Bklyn)- it's just difficult to find the right wedding venue for less than 100 people.

not sure what they cater too, but I do know that the rooms have partitions that can cater to smaller or bigger parties.  Even though I said we had the bigger room, it was actually a combo of two rooms w/ a partition removed  (magnolia room and persimmon room).
I can definitely tell you that no matter what room you get you will be happy.  My bridal attendant (Jen) was fantastic (helping with dress/bathroom, bringing food up to our room, getting us drinks, etc).  Mr. and Mrs. Nicotra, who own the place, even came into our wedding to make sure we and our parents were happy with everything.

We had our wedding in the smaller of the two ballrooms, since our guest list was around 140-ish. I love the big room, but the minimum for it was just too high. The room looked beautiful, though and we were very happy with it. The staff went above and beyond. The food was excellent. I wrote a full review on epinions.com if you want to take a look. Pics in my bio as well.

Your responses have been so helpful..All of your wedding pics are beautiful!
I hope I look that good on my wedding day lol...

Thanks for the information again. I don't have an event coordinator yet 'cause we haven't decided if we're going to book or not. I want to choose a place asap though since i'm going to be even more busier with school and work soon...I've been taking with Patricia though... do you know her?

Jamilynn, the room you had your reception in, was it directly across the hall from the tea house room? They showed us the room directly across the hall but it wasn't set up for a wedding so I couldn't get a good idea of what it would look like. It's separate from the bigger rooms and it didn't have the window...The room you had your reception in looks great! I'm really impressed with the feedback i've been getting so far about the place.

I think you should book your wedding there ;)
we got great feedback from our guests as well.

Hi Liz - how is your planning going? we were originally going to invite 260, but I think we wound up inviting 240something and about 215-220 came.  It was the perfect amount b/c the room didn't look too overcrowded.

I am getting married in the larger room & the cocktail hour is in the tented room.
The room for smaller weddings has the cocktail hour in the tea room, which is very pretty but had a funny smell when I was there :(  I think it's because they have running fountains in there.  Maybe it was just an off day or something.

I also went to a wedding in the larger room years ago and since then I knew I loved it.

Yep! Our cocktail hour was held in the Tea House room and our reception was direcly across. They put the air wall up, but with the pictures that hang on it, you'd never know it. The head table is setup on the side with the wall opposite the movable wall, with the dance floor in the center and guest tables on both side walls. The DJ/band sets up by the movable wall.  I had similar concerns since the windows are so pretty, but it turned out really beautiful.  We booked them based on the positive feedback as well, and was so glad we did. They not only demonstrated why they have such a good reputation, but exceeded our expectations.

Hi girls! Just wondering since a lot of you have already gotten married - who did you tip? I am not sure on all the etiquette. Did you tip the event coordinator at the hotel that worked with you?
    Thanks!
