My best friend's mother passed away this morning. She'd battled cancer for the last year.
Normally, I'm very good about writing sympathy notes. I don't use the preprinted ones from the store, and I usually manage to write a message without much difficulty.
This time, I'm having so much trouble. Her mother was a wonderful woman who loved her family and did everything she could for them. She leaves behind a husband, two daughters and a grandson.
What do I say to my friend? I feel I owe her something more than the standard, "I'm sorry for your loss." My heart is just breaking for her right now. She's a very private person, and she's been at her parents' house a few hours away for the past two weeks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
