My face is burning!

I got 2 laser treatments done today.

I bought one to help with skin discoloration.  I have been getting bad melasma or brown spots from never wearing sunscreen on my face:(  I have been using a px cream for 2 months and just got the laser.  It is going to make them all really dark then they peel off.  Hope I don't look like a freak for work on Saturday.

It was buy one, get one...so I decided to try the skin firming laser.  Oh my god.  It was immediate.  She showed me the right side before finishing and the lines from my nose to mouth are smooth, my eyes and my eyebrows look lifted like I got a mini face lift.  And the sagginess that was starting near my jawline looks firm.  I am sold.  My face even feels firm and my eyelids feel lighter.  Can't wait until the blotchiness evens out so I can see the finished result :)

  • When I was 18 I did the first 4 treatments of laser hair removal on my...*ehem* anywho, yeah that hurt.  Like getting snapped with a rubber band repeatedly.

  • How long is the skin firming one supposed to last?

  • Now why would you need to improve yourself?  You're already prettier then all the other knotties!!  :)

Ummmm  Kaos - nevermind, I got a visual and I just can't respond.  LOL.
  • That's what the discoloration laser felt like.  But they put numbing cream on so it was very tolerable...super easy.

So....did the laser work?  I have heard such mixed results about that.

  • Butting in, I did the laser hair reduction on my upper lip and the sides of my cheeks about 10 years ago - just within the last year a few hairs have appeared.  Right now I'm doing underarms and brazilian.  Once that's finished I'm going to have her touch up the ares I had done before.

  • Aww Stack!  My cheeks are already burning!  Thank you:)  Just a little maintenance, haha.  The brown spots were really bugging me and I thought...why not try the firming one?  I have to keep looking young for my young husband!!

I feel like I have a sunburn.  She said heat makes it worse so avoid heat.  Didn't feel so great on the drive home in the 115 degree weather.

  • She said it would last a few months.  Or if I got four treatments one month apart, then up to a year.  It is my friends sister, so she is going to tell me when the next buy one get one deal is.  I am signing up!

  • haha

on your skin!  not to drink, I should mention
  • Good idea!  Milk is so soothing.  It feels much milder now than it did 2 hours ago.

  • I want to try the firming one, too!

I've been getting the laser hair removal on underarms and bikini- rubber band snapping is JUST what it feels like, sometimes a really VICIOUS rubber band snap. Ouch. But so far I have noticed a big difference. It works best if you have fair skin and dark hair.
  • I never used to wear sunglasses and I'm terrible with sunscreen, so I'm going to need something soon.

  • Sascha,

Do you know the name of the laser you used?  Maybe I should get some work done when I'm in your hood next month.  I would love that.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

  • I know it was an IPL laser smokey, but I will find out the exact name and let you know.  And I will let you know if she does any 2 for one specials!  Seriously, it is an immediate noticeable difference.  My daughter even seems impressed with my jawline.  I don't know if it looks extra firm from light swelling, but I will let you know how it looks in the next week.

Not the same procedure as the laser of course but I used to get chemical peels - I too would worry about how much my skin would peel at work (answer: a lot, every time. without fail.). Hoping very much that you fare better for Saturday :^)
