Blueberry pancakes are amazing.  There's<strong> on breakfast place around here</strong> though that decided they wanted to be different.  Instead of putting the blueberries in the pancakes, they made a blueberry syrup. It's so not as good and you can't put maple flavored syrup on them then.  I was really disappointed when they came to the table.
A local custard place makes Red Velvet frozen custard and it is awesome! There's cream cheese frosting swirled throughout the custard. OMG. Now I want some. I think it's their flavor of the day on Monday...

That sounds like heaven on earth to me.
• Well that sounds like an awesome shower Rach, have fun!  There's always time for sleep and the drive home is a perfect time. :)
• Loopy--
It's a little place called luna.  Their food is good, except for the blueberry pancakes are not as advertised.

• Well, shoot, now I want custard too.

Rachers - I don't envy your 21 dozen jars. You'll definitely get them done!

It is. I think it changed my life.

We're going to this great breakfast/brunch place here tomorrow that has killer biscuits and gravy and pancakes. AND "stuffed browns" which are hashbrowns mixed with delicious things like cheese and chorizo and spinach. Now I really can't wait!
In Response to Re: It's Friday morning but more importantly.... : Haha, I just asked FI if we could go get breakfast tomorrow because this thread is making me hungry. Have you ever had tomato gravy? So freaking good.

<div>Tomato gravy?  I've never even heard of it, but I must say, I'm intrigued.</div>
In Response to Re: It's Friday morning but more importantly.... : DO IT! FI and I were at a breakfast place in Charlotte, NC a few weeks ago.  They had red velvet pancakes with a cream cheese icing drizzle.  It was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. The pancake wasn't overly sweet, and they just drizzled the cream cheese on top to give it just the right amount of sweetness...I'm drooling.....

Yeah, I'm going to need to know the name of this place so I can go this weekend.  Please and thank you.
• Hashbrowns are my favorite breakfast food ever. Stuffed browns sound amazing.

• HG question - will my H like it if he's not read the books?  He's actually home this weekend and it might be fun to go if we have time before he goes back to work.
• I love Trocadero! It was probably my favorite breakfast place before Blue's Egg (not sure when you moved away, but Blue's is pretty new- owned by the same people who opened Maxie's Southern Comfort)

Trocadero people just opened a place that has gotten rave reviews- Cafe Benelux; it's in the 3rd Ward. I can't wait to try that out.

Check out this list of "stuffed browns." Sorry in advance.

Pulled ham, sharp cheddar

Aged Provolone, fresh
basil, rich tomato sauce

Goat Cheese, roasted
olives, paprika aïoli

Chicken Chorizo, spinach,
paprika aïoli

Roasted Mushroom,
creamy leeks, herb creme
fraiche
• DJ, that's weird that you crave them now. And cruel of your body. I've seen lots of recipes for GF almond flour pancakes, but I think they have like a million calories in them.

• Holly - what kind of blow dryer did you get? Mine literally falls apart every morning, I should probably get a new one.

• So crazy story.  Yesterday there was a dude on a bridge that goes over a major 400 series hwy (interstate really) and he was going to jump.  Luckily, someone saw him on the bridge, called 911 there happened to be police in the area that stopped traffic and they tried to pull him up but he fell anyway, survived and has non life-threatening injuries.  The pics are insane and not gory at all.

• Speaking of GF foods, my mom has experimented with them a lot since that's a part of her diet now as well and a lot of it is delicious. Others, not so much. One time I came home after everyone had already eaten dinner and they were all raving about how delicious these biscuits were.

They were not by any means delicious. They even had Grandma in on the joke just so they could see my face when I ate one.

• Wow, that's crazy that someone caught him falling on camera Habs! I'm glad he's okay and that they stopped traffic so he didn't cause a huge accident and injure more people.
• That's crazy Habs.  I'm glad the guy is ok; I can't imagine being someone that saw that as it was happening.
• That is so scary.  I'm glad he's okay, Habs, and hopefully he can get the help he needs.

• Wow Habs. What a scary situation. I'm glad he's okay!

Holly, you made bank! That's awesome.

• Apparently he's tried it before.  Does it to try to escape drug testing.  I dunno.  That's what the rumours are anyway.  he's a big dude.  Two cops couldn't hold him, so if he'd landed on a car, he could have killed others in the process.  That's awful.  Hell, even if he didn't land on a car, he could have killed others in the accident that would be sure to follow.

• Habs that's crazy! Glad that he's okay!

Well my morning is starting off good, i've got a lot to do today though. I am so glad that it's Friday! Hair trial tonight and then cleaning house all day tomorrow. FI and I are going over our budget with my aunt. He wasn't able to get that Home Equity loan anyways, so now it's just back to paying off the cards, hopefully he will get some 0% offers in the mail soon and we can just do balance transfers and get it down that way.

We got our first RSVP back, my friend was invited with her husband and now she's decided to bring her Mother In Law who I have only met once at her wedding. I'm going to just let it go, but it bugs me.

• Hey dudes. Rough week here. Glad it's ending, but I anticipate a crappy day of work to get through today.

Is it spring break everywhere next week? I hope so. That would mean less traffic for me. Traffic is destroying my soul.
• Holly - that hair dryer and all the goodies sound quite fancy. I don't have thick wavy hair though...just short, fine hair.

Rachers - I tried to clean the lint out of mine and gave up after about 30 seconds. Clearly I wasn't committed to the cause.

Habs - That's just crazy.
Keep in mind, though, I'm a HUGE hair product hoar.  I have a ton of blow dryers that I bought, hoping they were worth a shiit, and they aren't.  They are "back up" blow dryers now.  I also have a small arsenal of flat irons and curling irons, as well as hair serums to make it lay down after it's been straightened.
Posted by Holly4212011
<div>I would love to have an arsenal of hair products! I bet I would have good hair days more often. Although, if I'm honest with myself, I wouldn't know what to do with them. I haven't owned a straightner in years.</div>
• A CHI is definitely on my wish list. I already have naturally straight hair so really, I probably don't need a nice one but I like that they rarely break. I'm hard on anything electronic or that plugs in so I don't want to get attached to a flat iron and then it break on me soon after I get it.

I've also been craving one lately since I saw a trick on Pinterest where you can get soft curls using a flat iron.
• Good morning, cats!

I don't know how to use a curling iron. True story.

And Hunger Games is TOTALLY amazing. Absolutely worth staying up last night. I might go again today if the tickets aren't all sold out.

I was UGLY crying...in a public theater. So good.

• FISHY! I've missed you so! I know I'll be a wreck in the theater tonight too.
• I've missed you guys, too!! Life has been crazy busy, but in a good way!

I took the day off today so  I can fuuck around a bit, and sleep off my movie hangover. Until I have to go to lunch, that is. And ya know. Plan a bachelorette party in a day since it's tomorrow, but WHATEVER.
