Good morning, E!!

Okay, I'll start it this time. :) I'm in a great mood today - the 10 day forecast came up for my wedding day. 83 and sunny. Please God, don't change your mind!! :)

How's everyone else this morning?

Re: Good morning, E!!

  • Good Morning.

I'm getting ready to go to bed.  It was another long, raining, cranky kind of day.  I need to paint, but I need it to be below 90% humidity to do that :-(

I'm toying with the idea of gettingup early again tomorrow to see if another kangaroo comes into the yard.  H wasnot nearly as thrilled with development as I was.  H e was out scouring the fence line to see how he could have gotten in.

  • aMrs- If it were me, I'd definitely get up again to see if he came back. What was he doing? Do you have a garden or something that he was getting in to? Or was he just dropping by to say hello?

  • LTB I've been such a naughty girl. I've gone to the tanning bed a few times in the last week just to get my color around again. ..::shrinks in to the corner::..
  • Good morning, AK (and the rest of E)!

I'm home from RI and the funeral, and...really, really happy to be back.  The funeral was about as rough as can be expected.

But I got to spend some quality time with FI last night, slept like a rock, it's a beautiful day outside today (70s and sunny, no humidity at all, perfect weather!) AND my dress fitting is this afternoon!

  • No garden, yet.  That should really bring them around.

He was just kind of lopping the flower beds around looking to see if there was anything good to eat.

I did however shut the steel gates on the deckk rather quickly.  You really don't want them too close.  When we saw these gates we wondered if they were trying to keep something in or out.  The answer is...keeping stuff out.

  • Good morning all!

aMrs if you see another Kangaroo in your backyard please take pictures!!
  • Good Morning.  AK - stop looking at the forecast - you'll drive yourself craaaazy!  ;)  BUT SQUEEE - 10 days!  That's awesome.

T and I were just texting scheming on ways to take a day off of work to just hang out with nothing to do since we never get a day alone anymore.  So we decided we'll take Friday Sept 3rd off since the Buckeye's first game is the night before.  It's nice to have something to look forward to.  Plus that's Labor Day weekend so it'll be a 5 day weekend for me.  WOOT.
  • manda, I posted a thread last night.  if you click on my little magnifying glass thingy...

But I will try to get a better picutre next time.

  • Stacks- I know. And I'll totally confess that I've been checking the forecast every day this week WAITING for my date to come up. Hehe. I couldn't help myself. Plus pretty much all my wedding stuff is done, so now I have nothing to do but wait, check the forecast, and stalk my registry. Hehe.

aMrs- How high are the fences? You said your H was checking to see how he got in... couldn't he have just jumped over it? :)

LTB- That does make me feel better. I used to tan years ago that way, and gave it up. When I finally sucked it up last week I felt like a cheater. Hehe. I haven't been burned... and I better not. I've got a base tan from earlier in the summer so I think that helped. 6 minutes tops.
  • Everyone does it Ak.  it's like a train wreck and you just can't look away.  I was so excited for my forecast - 85 / Sunny.  It was one of the first hot days in May 09.  However, I didn't take into consideration that the golf course our reception was on, was city owned and they refuse to turn on the a/c until like the first week into June.  Yea, it was HOT to say the least.  Lights off and fans in the doorways - but nobody left - so I guess they really loved me.  LOL.
  • Good morning everyone!  I'm kind of exhausted.  I started my new position on Tuesday and it's just been a whirlwind of info and catching up.  Plus learning and dealing with personalities since I was their co-worker and now I'm their boss.  It's been an interesting week.

  • Awww!!

Well, our ceremony and reception are both indoors - church and restaurant/ballroom. But we plan to do our pictures at a Lake Michigan park. It will be beautiful. Woods, dunes and beach all in one park.

And I have a backup indoor photo contingency plan, just in case. I convinced myself that if I didn't come up with a backup plan, it would rain.
  • AK, the fences are about normal height but the land right behind the fence line has a very steep slope, and it's full of rainforest growth, so there isn't really room for him to get enough speed up to jump the fence.  At least H doesn't tink they can do standing vertical leaps...

  • aMrs- The only kangaroos I've ever seen were either on TV or in a zoo, so I can't help you there. Maybe he pulled a spiderman move on the fence? I don't think they can climb.

Definitely let us know if you see him again!!
  • Good morning, all!

It's restaurant week in DC so last night H and I went to an amazing Indian restaurant and it made my heart pitter patter.  So expensive but so worth it!  Tonight is a "Girls Night" for the women in my office.  It could be really fun or really horrible.

Haha andyandhillary, yes - Coworkers' Girls Night could get a little hairy. At my last job, I tried that once and seriously regretted it. Now I only have 1 female coworker who drinks - and we lurve Margarita Mondays! :) I'm sure you'll have fun.

<div>Ah! Yes, I see it. I love when wildlife wanders into view on my property. I know you're familiar with DC, so do you know where I live if I say we are right on top of Cameron Run in Alexandria? Anyway, it's one of those little pockets of woods that pop up around the suburbs. I've seen foxes and snapping turtles so far, but nothing as exciting as a kangaroo. </div>

    <div>Which one? I love Indian food. </div>
  • Mmm...that sounds delicious. I'd never really tried Indian food until about a year ago, and now I'm kind of addicted to some of it.

  • Speaking of stalking... has anyone here tried Google Earth Chrome? FI heard about it yesterday - and how you can zoom on the satellite images so well you can read people's t-shirts - and now he's convinced that he's being watched. Oy.

  • Morning!  I'm teleworking today - LOVE IT.  I rolled out of bed at 5:55 and was "at work" by 6:00 (as opposed to usually waking up at 5:25 to get to work at 6:30).  It feels like ages since I have been around here on a week day!

  • Manda, I do know where that is.  At one point I lived at the corner of Lee and Glebe.

  • Oh and as for stalkers, right now I would welcome the company!

If you goggle earth Barron Falls Queensland, I live in a close radius to the falls.  So you'll see what I mean by "rainforest".  We are right at the edge of a World Heritage wetlands area.

Yaay!! It's all starting to seem so real now, isn't it?? :)
  • Haha LTB that reminds me of something interesting my ceremony coordinator told me. She said they strongly encourage couples and wedding parties to completely refrain from drinking before the ceremony... because if it ever came to a divorce/annulment, the fact that everyone was inebriated might play a role in deciding whether they were "of sound mind" when getting married.

Of course, that was after my brother's wedding where we were sucking down mimosas at 8am at the hair salon. I was half in the bag by the time we got to the church. Ack!!
  • Good morning!  Someone brought poprocks into work today!  I feel like a little kid!

  • AK, an officiant can refuse to marry you if they smell liquor and think you might have had to much to drink.  You have to be sober to enter into a legal contract.
