Outdoor Venue?

A friend of mine is looking for a venue where she can have an outdoor ceremony and cocktaiil hour, preferably by the water, within an hour of Staten Island but not in Staten Island. Any recommendations?

Does anyone remember where Irina from Creative I (Knottie: AnotherName) had her wedding?

    Try Giando's on the Water, in Brooklyn.  Their website sucks, but the actual venue is really nice and has an outdoor patio with amazing views for the ceremony/cocktail hour.

    Irina's wedding was at Crescent Beach Club in Bayville (Long Island.)

    Your friend should definitely look into Battery Gardens - in Manhattan.

    Not sure if this is what your friend is going for, but I'm having my ceremony and cocktail hour outside at Studio 450, and then the reception inside.  It's not literally on the water like Battery Gardens, but it's a half block from the Hudson (31st between ninth and tenth) and the views are beautiful.
