Me too. I'm the only lefty in my family and I get a corner of the table when we have dinner with them so I don't end up elbowing people when I eat. I don't understand it, becase everyone eats with the fork in the left and the knife in the right (except my heathen husband for some reason) but there it is.

My family is split, dad and sis are right handed, me and my mom are left. And I always call a corner of the table at my MIL's house because they are all right handed.

When I spend a month in Germany and then later in England everyone thought I was just being proper eating with my left hand. Little did they know, but at least I fit in!

So, true story, a friend of mine met Mr. Boston from I Love New York and his twin brother when they were in Vegas. She invited them to her brithday party and drunkenly made out with Mr. Boston.

A few weeks later she got a cold sore. She called Love Line and told them, "I think an E list celebrity gave me the mouth herp." And admitted who it was. And Mr. Boston's brother heard it!

And then it turns out that my SIL went to high school with their older sister. They're from my husband's home town - which means his accent is NOT as strong as he implies.

Mine were always really small and pointy. I had 2 root canals in one and later had to have it pulled anyway, so it's a cap over an implant now. The other one has a veneer, as well as my two front teeth.

I cannot get used to this. I'd never seen it in my life - in any country - until we came to Canada and lately more and more people I meet do it. I'd have ended up with a ruler across my knuckles if I ate like that at school growing up so I think it's hammered into me that it's fork in left, knife in right, spoon in right no matter what.

Random things that have occured to me reading this thread:

H and I always seat ourselves so we don't knock into each other eating because of the right hand/left hand thing.

I met Neyo once when he came shopping at the American Eagle I worked at (in Springfield, PA of all places).  I barely knew who he was, but the other kids working there were excited.

Ever After annoys me (along with a plethora of other movies set in European countries) because they're supposed to be in France and they just give everyone an English accent.

Upon trying to find the picture of Neyo, I realized I've been forced into the new profile on Facebook.

I cut food with my left and eat with my right.  I never noticed people changed hands while cutting/eating until senior year in high school when we had a "French themed" meal at my teachers house and she was correcting everyone and telling them to eat like me b/c the French don't switch hands after they cut their food.

I've heard it's rude and/or barbaric to stab your food. Something like you're supposed to kinda scoop it up onto the back side of your fork with the side of your knife?
