Gift for DW?

If you were invited to a DW but could not attend, would you still send a gift?

Re: Gift for DW?

  • It would depend on whether I had the money or was close to the couple, etc. it wouldn't depend on whether it was a DW or not.

  • Gifts are never required. If this was not a DW, would you be sending a gift? If so, send one. If not, just send your regrets.

  • If the wedding were local, would you attend?  If they are close enough that I would normally send a gift, definitely yes.  I might even spend a bit more money, since I'll be saving the money I'd normally spend traveling.  If you aren't close, and it feels more like a gift grab than an actual expectation that you'd come, I'd stick with a card instead.
