Gift etiquette in a recession

I'm wondering how people deal with the registry issue when money is tight for your guests. Is registering rude?

So the blog matches your SN?  I don't think you're allowed to advertise your blog like that.

  • I think I'm missing something on the whole "blog" thing. But no, registering isn't rude.

  • I deleted the other thread.  This one I left since you all had posted and the blog link was gone.
  • Obviously no one should solicit gifts and registries should not be mentioned.  But if you do register, register for gifts in a wide variety of price points.  It's not rocket science, and I don't know how a blog is required to assist people through the process.
