WR... Do I invite hair stylist?

I have been trying to find someone to do my hair for the wedding, and I just realized that a girl I went to high school with and was sort of friends with is a hair stylist (I know this because we are friends on FB, but we haven't spoken since high school).

My question is: if I have her do my hair, will I have to invite her to the wedding, too? I would obviously be paying her to do my hair, but I'm worried she'd be offended to only be the "hired help", and not actually be invited to the wedding.

I know I could afford to have her there, but I can't afford to invite her family also, and I know I would have to invite them. Plus she's cousins with someone who is also a friend, who I'm actually closer to, but is not yet on the guest list, so I'd have to invite her and her family, too, which would lead to having to invite her parents! (See, this is what happens when you go to school with the same people from kindergarten through high school!) I haven't really spoken to any of them in over five years.

So should I ask her to do my hair, or just find a hairstylist who would be invited anyway? If I have to invite the girls family, it might just be cheaper to go this route.

  • Sylists are not required to be invited.  Mine was someone I knew but not close enough to invite.  If you wouldn't invite her without her doing your hair, then don't nvite her.

[QUOTE]I would use my hairstylist :-)    She's been my stylist for 10+ years and though she'll be there to do my hair, she's not invited to the wedding. Inviting your stylist isn't required.

<div>I see you are in KC too, and it seems you think highly of your stylist since you've been using her for so long. Who do you use? I'd like to have some options, and if I like her, maybe I could hire your stylist and give her more business...</div>

Ditto.  I've been going to the same guy for 10+ years, but we don't socialize.  He will not be invited to the wedding.
