Beach Wedding

Has anyone rented a beach house in the Wrightsville Beach area and had their wedding on the beach at the house?

I was going to, until all of our plans changed. Check out www.homeaway.com if you are looking for houses. That's what I was doing. I have used their site many times with great results.

Just keep in mind you'll want to be upfront with the rental companies you plan on doing an event in their property.  NC law allows them to evict you from the property if you don't inform them beforehand and they find out.  I've heard stories of some rental companies sending the police over during the wedding!

I have been researching this idea as well, except in North Topsail Beach area. And as stated above, make sure you rent a beach house that accomodates weddings. Many of the houses do have the facilities for having the wedding right there at the house. I think it's a great idea for a smaller wedding. Good luck!

I orginally wanted to go with this idea, but decided to nix it because it seemed like a lot of trouble with the whole logistics of things.  But that being said I did do ALOT of research on the idea.  I am also having my wedding at Wrightsville Beach, but only because I fell in love with my reception hall and it is the nearest beach.  It is one of the most expensive beaches as far as rental prices on the NC coast.  There is also a permit fee to get married.  If you were going to rent a house for the ceremony and reception, I would suggest going with Oak Island Beach or one of the other Brunswick county beaches, they are much quieter and *cheaper*.  If you look up Oak Island Accomodations that already have some houses that you can choose from that are "Wedding Friendly."
