Easter Plans?

We have none really. My mom does brunch every Easter Sunday, but H said he didn't really want to go. I'm going to, but other than that, we've got nothing.

My sister had a baby boy yesterday morning, but they're 5 hours away, and not going to make the easter trek this year. But I'm an auntie again, and that's exciting!

Anyone do anything fun for Easter?

Re: Easter Plans?

  • Congrats Auntie Pumpkin!  I have ZERO Easter plans.  The IL's aren't doing a dinner this year.  So I'll probably do an Easter egg hunt at our house for Jocelyn.  HOpefully it doesn't rain.
  • Congratulations Aunt P2!

This is our only weekend with both of us at home together and no plans until after the wedding, so we're not doing much of anything.  We'll go to church Sunday morning, and I think I'm going to make a pork tenderloin, Christmas rice, and some kind of fun dessert, but otherwise, it'll just be the two of us.  I can't wait.  I've barely been at home at all the last few weeks.

  • Congrats on the new nephew!

My mom came down from Michigan and we are going to the Cherry Blossom Festival here in DC tonight and then on Saturday we're heading down to Colonial Williamsburg, VA for Easter.  We're going to a witch trial (love those things!) and doing the whole nerdy colonial thing in addition to brunch and the spa.

  • Congrats to your sister! FI is flying into New Orleans tomorrow afternoon, and I'm going to leave work a little bit early to pick him up, then we're spending the weekend in New Orleans. So no Easter plans really. I'll probably have brunch somewhere Sunday morning, but that's not really Easter related.

  • We seeing Mr. Arbs mom Saturday for lunch, and then going to see my dad's side of the family on Sunday since we skipped over them on Christmas.  I haven't seen Luke since Christmas, so I'm really excited!!

  • Yay for the new nephew.

We're going out to dinner with Mr B's family this year.  Usually my family does an Easter dinner but my aunt is hosting my baby shower in a couple of weeks so we decided that there wasn't a need for Easter dinner.  Esp since dinner is always at her house anyway.

  • No plans... my mom invited us over but I doubt we'll go.  I don't really celebrate Easter.
    image
  • We're going for a quad ride tomorrow with a bunch of friends. I forgot about that part. Especially because we just got one of these, but with big mud tires:

I guess Mark's been optimistic lately.

  • boo, I have to work.  Only the sunset sail, but still that is from 4-8.  DH has to go to work at 6am for the Easter Brunch.  I think he has some 300+ reservations already. So basically we will not see each other.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • We'll have dinner on Saturday night with my mom and sister at one of our favorite restaurants, The Columbia.

Then Church Sunday morning with my dad followed by lunch with my H's grandma.

  • Yay for seeing baby Luke, Arb!! I haven't seen my nephew (brother to the new baby) in a few months. Will see him next weekend hopefully, but I always look forward to it.

  • We go to sunrise Mass and then out to breakfast.  We usually come back home for naps and then spend the day laying out and grilling.  It's really casual cause my younger siblings have to work (restaurants) so we do the family thing early.

P2 - YAY for being an Auntie and that quad thing looks really friggin cool.  I wanna come play.
  • Congratulations on being a new auntie, P2!

I have church in the morning with my family, and then the big family Easter dinner.  I get to see my cousin's little baby again -- she's almost 9 months old, so she's getting big!  Our work schedules don't really allow us much time to hang out, though, so it will be good to see her.

    FI is working, unfortunately.  Frown

We were invited to a friend of FI's parents' house for dinner with FFIL.  They're a lot of fun and only live about an hour away from us so that's what we'll be doing.

Tomorrow and Saturday will be boat days, though :)

    EDIT:  Congratulations, Aunt Pumpkin! :)

My parents have seen him several times, and apparently he's starting to recognize who people are, and he's starting to speak a big more.  I get to see him next weekend also, so I already feel like April is going to be a great month

  • Saturday we're doing dinner at his parents' house and easter vigil.  Saturday morning friend's baby's baptism (we're the godparents) and then dinner with my parents.

  • I'm going home for Easter tomorrow and am bringing FI and his roommate home with me.  When I asked my mom if I could bring a friend home she didn't hesitate and said "Sure!"  She didn't tell me that she just started remodeling the living room, so there's next to no space in the house.  It should be an interesting weekend to say the least.  Oh, and on Easter we all go have lunch at my aunts house, so I'm looking forward to that!
  • I guess we are hosting Easter this year.  H's dad and his gf are coming over and so are his brothers.  Dad's gf is cooking so we don't really have to do much except provide the house :)  I will most likely start cleaning tomorrow though.  Other than that, I have a free weekend and I couldn't be happier!  Oh, except that it has been 70-80 degrees here everyday until tomorrow and this weekend will be 50's and rainy... awesome.
  • Congrats Auntie!

My DH's entire family is getting together this year, which is exciting.  It will be the first time that all of MIL's children, godchildren, and grandchildren will be together in about 20 years.  She's very excited.  Since we were actually able to make the GTG happen, I wanted to hire a photographer to do family photos as a surprise to her.  As it turns out, my wedding photographer offered to do the portraits for free (I love him so much), so we have family photos tomorrow after work.

Sat, we're going to the Cherry Blossom festival to meet DH's dad and stepmom for a few hours, and then probably spending the rest of the weekend with MIL.
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

  • Congrats on the nephew, P2!

We're having lunch at my sister's house (the crazy one who just moved in with her fiance). It will be good to see the family and my parents.

All the guests are on board as of today and it looks like H will be on a cruise to St. Tropez, Corsica or Monte Carlo for Easter Sunday.

I however, will be here alone and hoping that TK isn't dead as a door nail.

  • Congrats, Auntie Pumpkin!

Saturday is my younger daughter's birthday, but we are going to have a low-key day as my older daughter will probably not feel well after her surgery. Sunday is church (singing with some members of the Cobb Symphony and have to do a recitative and duet from The Messiah), then to MIL and SMIL's for dinner. I wanted to cook myself, but this is kind of a command performance. Doubt my husband will be able to come since he has to work Easter.
  • Saturday we're metting up with Jay's brother and a couple of friends for "Easter dinner" and then Sunday we're doing Greek Easter (which is a huge deal) at my parent's house in the early afternoon before Dad jets off to Moscow. I love Greek Easter. The food is like... OMG.

Oh, and tomorrow I fully intend to do absolutely nothing.

That sounds like so much fun!

I have mass tonight, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I should be super holy by Monday. We are going to the farm for Easter dinner. I will be making devilled eggs, as I do every year. And I'm yet to actually eat one.

  • We're heading up to Indianapolis for a concert...The Elms, Goo Goo Dolls, and LL Cool J, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The mix of bands seems kind of random...
  • I'm really just looking forward to my Baba's easter bread. Which is just raisin bread, with saffron. It's freaking delicious. And Mark hates it, so I get a whole loaf (always shaped like a lamb or bunny) to myself!! neener neener neener!!

  • Congrats again!

I got out of dinner with the FILs, because I'm working a double.  So I'll be at work.  I've never been huge on celebrating Easter so that's ok with me.

  • My parents and sister are coming over to go to mass with FI and I.  Then I'm going to make brunch for them.  Then FI and I are going to his aunt's house to celebrate with his side.  Loooong day.
