I wanna get married again.

one of my girl friends just got engaged, and i'm fighting the temptation to say "OH! LET ME PLAN IT!" lol.. i'm such a freak.

i still have moments of really missing planning.. is that weird?
if you could do it over again would you? what would you change?

Re: I wanna get married again.

  • I'd plan someone else's. No way in the world could you pay me to plan my own again. Not with that MIL of mine and her GD secret growing guestlist. I was thinking about it yesterday, and the only thing I would possibly change is the hotel - we looked at 2. One had a nicer ceremony space and a dinner-only menu, the other had a decent ceremony space and a lunch-menu with free veggie apps for cocktail hour. Part of me wishes we'd gone for the nicer ceremony space, but I wouldn't change the food.

Oh, and a real wedding photographer. We used a friend to save money, and though we love his style for modeling shots, we didn't get what I wanted in terms of wedding shots. I'm still kicking myself.

Hellfuckingnodamnit! There is NO way I'd do it over again.
  • If I could do it again, I would.  I enjoyed our wedding.  I wouldn't do anything differently.  I would just want to do it again because I really enjoyed it.

  • I guess it's not weird in that plenty of other women have had the wedding withdrawal feelings as you...

But there's no way in hell I'd ever plan my wedding again, or even get any closer than an arm's length to planning any other wedding.

  • i'm a natural planner though. i enjoy planning events and people. lol
i actually hired a planner and the night of my wedding she says "you did such a great job, you totally didn't need me!"

seriously? thanks for letting me know i wasted money. bitch. lol
  • i wouldn't wear a bumpit.

    oh wait, i didn't.
  • Who DOES wear bumpits? I'd like to meet these people.

And, i'm over weddings. I didn't like wedding planning, I don't get excited anymore about other people's weddings, I'm just over it.

And posting on a wedding message board.

This, exactly. Just send me an invite and let me come see you get married. I don't want to know about it beforehand.
  • I might, as long as I didn't have to pay for it. It would be fun to do a completely different season, color scheme and venue, just for kicks.

But then, I'm 9 months out. Ask me the week after my own wedding and I might change my mind!

  • The only thing I'd change is paying the crazydressshopowner the

$700 deposit that I'm yet to get back... however, that debacle lead me to finding my very awesome dress, so that's not really such a bad thing.

We had such a great time that I really wouldn't change anything.

I do, however love to help my MOH plan (even though her tastes are different to mine so most of what I send her isn't what she has in mind), and I still love oogling at beautiful weddings.
