Who will walk me down the aisle?

My issue is:
My Dad moved 1,300 miles away from me after a divorce. I hardly talk to him, but he will be there for our wedding.
My Grandpa is ALWAYS there for me and i love him dearly. I feel he deserves to walk me down the aisle more than my Dad.
I dont want to wreck the relationship i somewhat have with my Dad.
What are my options to include both of them in our ceremony?
Or should i say screw it and have my Gpa walk me down?

Re: Who will walk me down the aisle?

  • You could walk alone.
  • Colleen, get out of my head! Squirrely, walk yourself down the aisle. Or, walk in with your FH.
  • I'll walk you.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

    You could:

    -Walk by yourself.
    - Walk with your FI, or have him meet you half way and walk down the rest of the aisle together.
    - Walk with ust your grandfather.
    - Walk with both your grandfather and father (one on each arm.)
    - Have one walk you halfway and hand you over to another. I'm not a fan of this idea, but people do it.

That's a good amount of options. Do what is best for you. If I were in your situation, I'd ask my grandfather to walk me down. I would choose the person that has been there for me always.

  • You're closer to your grandfather and hardly speak to your dad. I'm sure your dad will understand.
  • You can have on walk half way, the other walk the other half.

    Have them both walk you.

    Walk by yourself.

I'm sure you'll give them each bouts to wear, which is perfectly fine. List them both in the program, if you'd like.

  • If it were me, I'd have my grandfather walk me down the aisle.  Talk to your dad, though.  Instead of phrasing it like "I picked him over you," you could say "It would mean so much to him to be able to do this."

  • How about your mother? If she's been there with you straight through, I'd walk with her.

  • What's all thatshit up there ^?
  • oot, do you mean our discussion around the many squirrel s/ns, or something else?
  • I'm not sure what it is.  Its not a regular post or the replies to one.  Sometimes it shere' and sometimes not.

I can only see half of what I'm typing now so excuse errors
  • I think OOT's seeing the hot topics/knottie of the week at the top of the screen instead of the bottom.  Which often results in a wonky reply box, in my experience.
