Clean an antique cake topper?

How would you go about doing this?  Are there certain stores that could/would do this?

I'm using my grandparents' cake topper and it has some silk flowers and ribbons that need to be replaced too.

  • Can you call an antique doll restoration place?

  • I'll look one up!  (I never knew such a thing existed)

  • I see you are in the DC area...

I know for certain there is one in Annapolis.  Of course I can't remember the name of it, and I can't believe I can't remember the name of the street.  It's not Forest dr and it's not Main street...let me see if I can find the name...

  • If you think of it let me know!

The cake topper is actually where the wedding/FI is in Grand Rapids, MI but it's not like I know of any places there either.

  • The one I'm thinking of is on West street in Annapolis, that should help narrow it down.  As far as Grand Rapids, can't help you there.

I think they are also called Doll Hospitals.  Places that have stuff for the really elaborate doll houses may be able to point you in the right direction too.

  • Have you tried calling the dry cleaners? They might be able to refer you to someone else.

  • If not a antique doll place (or if you can't find one), call around to an antique dealer and they may have some more recommendations.
