Resending Invites

We just found out that a number of guests from 1 state have not yet received their invitations. From what we can tell nobody from FI home state has received the invitation that was mailed. Yes I know we mailed them slightly ahead of the 6-8 week mark but 85% of our guests need to book flights and were asking for details about the wedding. My question is how long do we wait before we resend invitations to these guests?

How long ago were the invites sent?

I'd give them a good 2 weeks before you start worrying. I don't know the USPS situation in their area, but where I live our mail takes up to 5 days locally - it goes to a totally different city to be processed.

If it's a number of people, all in the same area, I'd assume it was a slow USPS thing, and I'd give it at least a couple weeks.  In the meantime, if you're super concerned, you could send an email to them with the info so they can get things booked if they want.

Ditto JK. If it were just one or two people from a larger group of people I would resend them, but since it's the whole group from one state it's probably a slow mail thing. Give it a couple of weeks and if they still haven't received them send them out again.

It has been about 9 days so far. We will wait until the end of the week and then probably resend at that time or just email all the information. Luckily we ordered extra invitations.

Have you contacted your local post office about it?  That does seem like a long time.  My mom got her invite from me in 3 days.  It went from NE to TX.  I would contact you local post office and see what they say and then go from there.  If its been 14 days and they havent received them I would email the vital info and mail out new invites.

When I send things to my friends in Missouri from Louisiana, it usually takes at around 7 days to get there.  The fastest they've received something I've mailed is 5 days, longest is 9 days.  I would give it at least 2 weeks before I started to worry about it.
