Wrightsville Beach Recs

My SIL is interested in getting married at Wrightsville Beach and having a small reception for just immediate family (25 people).  Does anyone have any recommendations for ceremony locations and reception?

I would reccommend going to the cape fear bride website, there's tons of recs on there.

And since it's such a small guest list, maybe consider renting a beachfront house and getting married on the beach and having the reception at the house.

I just posted this response to someone else who was looking to get married at Wrightsville. See a few messages back for the post titled "A little help please" to see everyone's response. Here you go:

I have stayed at the Blockade Runner a few times and it's really nice. They have weddings on their front grass lawn that overlooks the beach.  I was just there this weekend while a wedding was going on and everything looked nice set up. They also own a cottage that is next to the hotel that can sleep up to 26 people. My fiance and I had looked at having our wedding there and renting the cottage for family/ bridal party.  Their resturant East does the catering and when I have had dinner there it's been really good.

We also looked into Shell Island Resort and they offer packages that include ceremony space, reception space, catering, linens, flowers, and even your wedding cake.  We ultimatly decided to have our wedding in Durham though because it would be less money and easier logistically.  I still have some of the information send me a private message if you want me to send it to you.

I think for that small of a party a beach house rental would be perfect! Then everything is under your control instead of someone's.

Wrightsville Beach is beautiful. And as other's pointed out the Cape Fear Bride website is very helpful for this area of the state.

just an FYI The shell island resort is REALLY pricey. It is 5000 just to rent the oceanview ballroom, and if you are thinking of serving dinner, the prices start at $65 dollars PER head. not including beer/wine if you are having it. It is a really beautiful space if you can afford it (I fell in love with it!) I'm just not willing to pay $65 dollars per person for a buffet dinner. The oceanic is a really nice place if you don't have a big guest list. Having the ceremony on the pier is really beautiful, and reception inside. Also, you might want to look into having it at the Holiday Inn Sunspree down there. They have an oceanview room that has AMAZING views, and the facility is really nice. Hope this helps!
