  • I have never heard of this. I think I'm going to google....

  • Could ponder getting put on the pill ... now days they know that you don't "have" to have periods... people are having 4 a year now wheeeee.   That way you could time it to not be having one then at all.
  • Well, we're trying to conceive, so pills are out. I'm hoping I won't have to worry about it at all and I'll be pregnant. Just thinking ahead.

I've never heard of it either.  I thought it was just me.

I guess it's because of what I do for a living, but having my period has never stopped from from doing anything, including but not limited to swimming.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I use a Diva Cup, and swear by it. Swimming, no problem. Horseback riding, including jumping, no problem. But no top rack of the dishwasher, even before there was a man around the house. Eeeewwwwwwww.
  • Haha I'm glad my friend's roommate is apparently the only person in the world that doesn't find the dishwasher thing disgusting. It was something they fought about constantly; she really didn't see a problem with it.

  • I have used instead cups during sex, but I would only do it on a light day. I would not trust it for swimming personally.

I use a menstrual cup. I've tried the keeper (which was good), diva cup (which was awful), and lunette (which is best). I lived with 4 other girls during college, and all 4 of them converted to menstrual cups after I recommended it. There's a learning curve though, so I wouldn't go swimming with it the first cycle you use it...

And no, don't put them on the dish rack!
  • Instead cups and Diva cups have the same idea...but the Instead cups are so crappy. I hated them. They are wider than the Diva cups, and I found that to not keep things clean.
