Weird/Gross things your FI/H does...

What are some weird or gross things your FI/H does that you necessarily wouldn't run to tell your family/friends--but wouldn't mind telling us?

Hmm, I may need to be inspired by other people, but I can't think of anything. I'm far more gross than him. He finally starting farting around me in the past few months. I've been doing it around him for ages.

This is not gross or weird and I would tell my family, but it does drive me completely fucking crazy. He leaves cabinet doors open when he gets something out. I'll go into the kitchen and it's like that scene from the Sixth Sense. I hate it.

I can't think of anything other than his farting. I can't figure out how I'm only one 'lucky' enough to experience them.

btw - my parents were here this weekend and DH is an oversharer. He sometimes does realize that all of his stories of his past are parent approved. I had to stop him a few times while telling a story. I wanted to yell why the hell do you think I want my parents to know this about you??

I HATE cabinet doors being opened. It drives me crazy !!... I had a friend open them just to annoy me.

I was hoping for weird/gross stories so I could feel justified about picking (no pun intended) on Rich--because he has this awful habit of picking his nose in his sleep--and leaving the results of said picking under his pillow. He claims he has no knowledge of doing it--and always tries to blame it on the dog--but I woke up one night and caught him doing it.

I always thought it was the craziest habit and then we went to visit his parents and I noticed that his mom does it. His dad just follows her through the kitchen closing them. It's so strange.

I think this is disgusting, but he doesnt' seem to care as much. He doesn't brush his teeth nearly as much as I think he should. I mean it's not like he has disgusting teeth, he just tends to forget sometimes like if he doesn't go anywhere right after waking up. It drives me insane. How the eff do you forget that? He's a grown adult, that kind of thing is supposed to be second nature. I've never told anyone that before. He knows how much it bothers me, mostly because I remind him every morning or every time we go somewhere to brush them, but I never talk to anyone else about it because I think it's kind of embarassing.

When we first moved in together and shared an apartment if I was "going #2" he would pee in the sink. (I like to read and would monopolize the bathroom, I admit).

From then on a two bathroom place was a requirement--I NEVER wanted to see that again..lol!

And he does not like girls to fart, but he is free to do it all day long Undecided

I think many men do that. My ex roommate used to move from place to place, and in each place her roommates were men... three places she lived in, six different men, all did the same thing - took coffee out, left the cabinet open... only closed a cabinet if leaving it open meant they could not open another one... FI does the same thing... weird!!

I hate the way FI, and his mother for that matter, eat. They chew loud as hell, she touches everything with her fingers, ever rice on the fork. Thank God, FI does not put his fingers too much in his food, but the noise... UGH

oh my gosh, i am laughing so hard at the pee in the sink thing...my fi hasnt done it yet, but we do have this strange things going on that we always have to go to the bathroom at the exact same time....it's always a fight for the bathroom first. I so hope I never find him having to go so bad that he does that

DH hates that I leave the cabinet doors open! If I just need something for a short time, I leave the cabinet door open until I put the thing back and then I close the door. DH is 6'3", though, and often hits his head on the open cabinet doors. :-/

And ditto e_j, DH is a loud eater. He doesn't chew with his mouth open, but he somehow is extremely loud when he's eating.

THIS. Thank you. I thought I was alone. And my MOM even mentioned that his breath is sometimes not totally minty fresh, but I can't convince him to go to the dentist for a cleaning without coming right out and saying his breath smells sometimes. Why would that be so freakin' hard for me to say??

TR (your name always makes me think you're marrying Teddy Roosevelt. Does that make me a huge nerd?) - I refuse to kiss DH if his breath is too stinky. That does away with any bad oral hygiene habits pretty quickly. :-)

He snorts out boogers in the shower, he says he doesnt but the boogers I had found on the wall/shower curtain says otherwise. I freak out at him each time and he claims to not know how it got there. He also leaves floaters, which I hate - he has gotten better in recent years but he knows i will give him sihit if he doesnt stick around to reflush.

I think thats hilarious he picks his nose in his sleep.

Adam drools, BAD, in his sleep to the point where his pillow will be soaking wet with a puddle formed ontop. I have had the misfortune of putting my face into it rolling over in the morning.

Ok - Totally grosses me out. About a year ago when we moved in together I noticed while we're sitting on the couch all of a sudden he'll put his hand down his pants. His hand doesn't move around or anything - it just sits there. I can't understand what it is - is he holidng it or something? Eh....

So I don't think he realized he did it, becuase when I first confronted him about it I was like "please do'nt tell me I'm getting married to Al Bundy" and he didn't get it. So I had to bluntly state "STOP PUTTING YOUR HAND DOWN YOUR PANTS ITS WEIRD"

    Ugh....

ecsmiles - my husband does this too, ive since found out he is just holding onto his leg, not his junk or anything. He says he likes holding his leg, so whatever.

Nebb, for some reason your H's explanation of his hand down his pants made me snort. I believe that he is holding his leg, but it sounds kinda like a nickname, like he's holding the baby arm. ;)

H will mindlessly scratch his balls if we're hanging out on the couch, for ever and ever and sometimes inside his shorts. Then he'll get up and try to put the clean dishes away out of the dishwasher. I have to stop him and ask him to wash his hands please. I feel like he could wash his hands twice as much as he does and I would still only be okay (not happy) with it. Then again, I wash my hands constantly so maybe my standards are a bit high.

Most of the time you can see that he is holding his legs, I will ask normally just to check, but he sticks his whole ARM down his pants and holds onto the thigh. It is really weird.
  • Options
Haha, that is weird. I wonder what our H's would say about us and our weird quirks. I think mine would be largely crazy-type things and not so much gross/hygiene related things.

Gross: He blows his nose in the shower

Annoying: He leave 1/2 empty drinks everywhere..he can't ever seem to finish a drink

Oh FI also cuts his nails on the couch while watching TV in dark. I asked him the other day: do you cut them so that they fly around everywhere, or do you collect them? He smiled and said: I noticed that you vacuum the couch each time you vacuum the living room and that's when I stopped caring if they fly around... my jaw broke into pieces on the floor!

You girls make me so happy to have my H!

Aside from the kitchen cupboard issue which H is also inflicted with, one of the worst things he does isn't quite directly his fault, but: he's a type 1 diabetic, so regularly tests his sugar using a glucometer which takes little plastic testing strips that he dabs his blood onto. He doesn't put these in the bin as soon as he's finished with them, particularly when he's at work and trying to be discreet about testing his sugar, and instead lets the pile up in the glucometer's case, which then results in them falling out when he opens it and thus having them all over our house. I'm constantly finding these things on the floor, in my handbag, in the car, in the bed, out in the yard etc. It's like his form of the breadcrumbs in hansel and gretel. Thankfully there's only a tiny dry blood spot which is actually covered by plastic on them, so it's not particularly disgusting, just frustrating more than anything!

My fiance does this too! Just scratching and scratching.. I've come out and asked if he had issues down there that I wasn't aware of. He laughed and was like no... I just itch em sometimes. I was like yeah.... more like every five minutes. He is either scratching or adjusting literally every five minutes. This is only at home.. thank god. lol

    NOOOOOOOOOO that is so wrong.

Mr. Heels snorts his snot back in his nose rather than blowing his nose. It's so gross. I yell at him about it. He also doesn't brush his teeth as often as I think he should. Dude, please do not kiss me when you've got a mouth half full of food.
