EDIT - I wonder if this is why TK has been "eating" posts. Maybe people who are given brief mod powers are deleting them? Possible.

I'm going home as soon as possible- snow is really coming down outside and I could not be looking less forward to driving in it.

I'm home and deciding on what I want to snack on (the cool ranch doritos are calling my name...) and hoping that the weather is awful tonight so that school is cancelled tomorrow.  *crosses fingers*

Kiki - I hate driving in the snow. HATE it. I get anxious and flustered and imagine myself driving off the road and dying. I avoid it at all costs, but living in CT doesn't help. We get a few good storms each winter - so far, we've had 1.

Sucrets- We've had 1 snow day so far, that we obviously have to make up in June. So far, we are out of school on June 18th! I still get peeved that if there is a delay, I have to go in a regular time. Grr.

I am doing chores atm. I came home and discovered that Nelson must have wasted his day away before class because this place is a wreck. There is so much he could have done, but didn't. I wanna kick his butt.

Oh, and this is random but my cousin left for his 3rd tour in Afghanistan today. Luckily, he'll be home in 3 months instead of 6 this time!

Why do you have to go in regular time if there's a delay??  That's messed up.  In NY, we all went in 2 hours later.

I think our make up days are after school ends (wtf?  I don't get the point...semester tests will be over, what are we supposed to do with them?), but since I'm now due on the 26th there's a good chance I won't be there.  Booyah.  Bring on the snow days now!

I know - I can't believe it! The laundry isn't folded, the dishwasher was full of clean dishes and the sink full of dirty ones. The trash is still next to the door, and there were dishes all over. The bedroom is a wreck and there's stuff all over the ground, and I also can't get into his mancave - there is stuff behind the door and it won't open very far!

The reasoning for the delay thing is that our school serves students from about 40-50 different districts. So, if their hometowns have delays/closings, they go by that - it doesn't matter if the town that the school is in has a delay. We have to go in. Because of this, we have kids with no delays and some with 90 min- 2 hour delays. We all have to be there right at 8am on delay days to receive the kids that didn't have delays. They come from up to an hour away. I drove there on icy highways earlier this week.

Wow.  That makes sense, but it's still really crappy. 

Btw, I'm happily munching on my cool ranch doritos now.  We always buy regular b/c that's what B likes, but this week we bought BOTH.  Yum.

Sucrets, do they not reschedule your finals b/c of the snow day?  For us they always did/do.

Hmm, maybe they do, I'm not sure.

Last year we used one day, but we made it up during the year.  I have no idea how they changed it this year...the calendar is hard to read.

You seiously get snow days? I never got a snow day, ever. I'm jealous.
The closest we came was having to do a lockdown for lunch because there was a moose in the parking lot.

Yeah, we always had a couple.  They started building 3 into the calendar so that they didn't have to reschedule graduation.  If we didn't need them, we just had a couple days break before graduation.

Last year, though, we had a week off from wind damage in the aftermath of a hurricane (yes, in KY - it tore down millions of dollars of power lines), and then another week off because more power lines came down in an ice storm.  No power at the schools = no school.

Hi everyone!

I want Cool Ranch Doritos now, but in approximately five minutes we're having hot dogs and mac and cheese for dinner so all is good.

I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow too.  My boss is really paranoid about snow driving, so she told us to all go home today at 2:30.  I got home at 5 anyway because I went to the gym and traffic was so horrible, but hey, it's an hour and a half earlier than usual!

Squirrly - My HS graduation got pushed back 4 days because of snow days. It was either that, or they'd take the days out of Feb or April vacation, and no one wanted that. I was in TN when that ice storm came through last year. It was earlier in the year, right? We were okay w/ power fluttering on and off for about a day or 2, but I heard that people right over the border in KY weren't as lucky!

I accidently deleted a post 2 days ago on the Registy board.  Made me mad because I was just clicking through the "are you sure you want to navigate away from this page" notice I get and before I could stop my finger, there were mod buttons. I told Dani asap.

I just got a email from KA threatening bannation if do it again.  Since I didn't do it on purpose, now I'm worried and don't even want to post for fear of clicking something wrong.
