My fiance has 6 friends from college that he would like to invite to the wedding. He has not seen any of these guys the time span we have been together, over 3 years, and I think it's really been about 4 years since he saw any of them.
All 6 live out of town. One is engaged, so obviously he will get a +1. My fiance speaks to these guys so rarely he doesn't even know if anyone else has a SO.
Basically- if they are in a commited relationship (ie: one that did not begin the day our invites go out) I have no problem giving them a +1.
What is a tactful way of figuring out who is in a relationship? Also, if they are not in one is it ok not to give them a +1.
Notes:
-These 6 guys are all buddies and see each other frequently because living not too far from each other so it's not like they will not enjoy each other's company.
-If all but one have a SO of course will give the "single guy" a +1 so he does not feel slighted
-These guys all are successful from what I've gathered so they may not think much of springing for a plane ticket on a girl just to bring someone.
-We are having a MAJOR space issue with our venue and have cut out a slew of other people that we actually see.
Thanks:)
