    Drive safe, Angel.

I thought I was an excellent BSer, Poke, and apparently it was good enough for that prof, but damn...it was so obvious as I re-read it now.  He was an attorney though, so I suppose he' enjoys BS ;)  (I love you, attorneys!!!!)

Angel - be careful! Drive safe - and I'm sorry your night was ruined : (
This is for you - I hope it helps : p

I thought it was cute, anyways lol.
  • Options
    Aw!  So cute!

Angel, if you want, I'll sing and dance for you.  That's always good for a laugh ;)

Haha - don't they teach a whole class on that in law school? : p But anyways, your BS is probably more obvious to you than it is to other people. I'm always so much more impressed by other people that say the same thing six different ways than when I do it myself.

Good point, Poke!  You'd probably love my paper then ;)  Actually, no you probably wouldn't.  It's pretty controversial, and I'm on the not very popular side of the issue, haha.

Ugh, I'm pretty sure if you put H's pharmacology book and my psychopathology book together in the same box, we'd need freaking Godzilla to carry the box.  WTF books?

I'm one of those people that can handle someone with a different opinion - as long as they're not diicks about it. I don't see how it's so hard for people to have rational conversations about contraversial topics. I'm interested to know what it is - but you don't have to share if you'd rather keep your opinion to yourself.

I'm back. Poke, that picture is absolutely adorable. We used to have bunnies.. They were cute, but not that nice. And yes J, I would love for you to sing and dance for me :

I'm with you, I love to discuss stuff with people who can handle it.  Most people feel pretty strongly about this issue though.  It was on sex offender registration, notification, and civil commitment.  And I'm pretty strongly against all but registration (at least the way they work now).

Angel - glad to hear you made it home safe. And I've heard that bunnies don't make the best pets. My friend used to have one when we were little. Her parents had her convinced that it was the Easter Bunny....which sucked when he died >.<
  • Options
J - What is civil commitment?

Poke - That is sad... so they were like, "Whoops, sorry, no more Easter basket for you, the Easter bunny died" ?? Haha

I think I'm going to drink the rest of my bottle of wine now... drinking away frustration is always the answer.

Drinking makes lots of things better Angel.  And if you hang out here, you are not drinking alone... right?
  • Options
Civil commitment is commiting someone to a psychiatric treatment center indefinitely, against their will.  For non-criminals, it would be because they're mentally ill enough that they can't care for themselves and they're a danger to themselves or others, and for sex offenders it would be because they're at a high risk to reoffend (there's more to it than that, but it varies from state to state and it's crazy complicated and far too much to type).

</div><div>I think it's stupid that when you are put on the sex offenders list you fall under the umbrella restrictions involving children. Not all sex offenders are pedophiles. FI and I were just talking about this recently. He was recalling a situation in which a senior boy and a freshman girl taped themselves having sex at a party. She was drunk and said he raped her. It was fairly obvious that she had consented (I think the beginning of the tape was viewed).I believe he was given a misdemeanor because he was within two years of her age - however he got 10 years because he had given her oral sex - which had been a felony. And his name was put down on the sex offenders list - which has effectively ruined his entire life. And she didn't get as much as a slap on the wrist for underage drinking.

J - I think I agree with you on being against that then. You can't punish someone for something they haven't done yet, even if it's likely that they will do it.

Guys, if my spelling and grammar gets really bad, I apologize in advance. I'm new to KUI :)

There was an episode of SVU where this teenaged girl took naked picutres of herself and sent it to a boyfriend and then the pictures got sent to the whole school... they charged her with child pornography because she was underage and she was going to have to be on the sex offender registry for sexting with her boyfriend, basically. Luckily at the end of the episode, it's discovered that the judge has an ulterior motive and the judge gets in trouble and the girl isn't charged. I like how I'm comparing TV to real life right now.

    Hi all!

    Going back to that now.

Haha Rossi is a little bit of a stretch. Depending on what you mean by "spend an evening with." I like Reid a lot, he's so smart and he's funny without meaning to be sometimes. I also love JJ because she's pretty. And Garcia, she makes me laugh out loud on a regular basis. I'm a little obsessed with Criminal Minds...

Muni - fortunately I never had to do that because FI wouldn't trust me with it. He can be a bit of a perfectionist like that.

Angel - here is another pic for you:

ETA - I am obsessed too. But Rossi may be older but he's got sex appeal. And he's super rich hahaha. But he's definitely last on the list.

I seriously love him. That picture does not look like it's from Criminal Minds though... is he on other things?

I like Gideon a lot, it's a shame he left so early. You know who I never liked? Elle. I'm glad that biatch is gone.

It's not supposed to be a punishment, it's supposed to be treatment.  It's not always treatment.

Haha - Elle grew on me. But I do like Emily better. I think that Hotch and Emily need to get together - they'd make a GREAT couple.

And that IS from Criminal Minds - have you not been watching the current season? I know a lot of people like to wait for it to end so they don't have to wait a week between each episode. The season finale is on May 16th - it's a special 2 hour episode. I can't wait!
