Hi ladies, I have 3 questions about an engagement party. First, just a little background - FI and I got engaged relatively recently over the summer, but we still haven't set a date officially (though we know which date we WANT it to be), and we probably won't until the holidays when we can finally meet with my priest - we know we want to get married in my hometown in my home church. We are also both law students, and the semester is starting to get pretty busy. So that said:
1) My roommate has very kindly offered to throw us an engagement party. We (and FI in particular) would like to take her up on her offer, but we're not sure about the timing of it. Given that we won't be setting a date officially until after the holidays, and given that people are starting to study for exams, would January be too late? We are going to have a long engagement - probably until May 2013.
2) Can it be in our apartment since she's hosting, even though I live there too?
3) She has been talking about it being a law students only thing. Is that OK or do we need to invite our parents/close friends who will probably be in the wedding party? I know we can only invite people who are invited to the wedding itself.
