Invitation to Photographer?

Our photographer is an older couple that has shot our family portraits...what is the etiquette...do I send them an invitation?

Re: Invitation to Photographer?

  • I sent an invitation to my photographer, but he is also my uncle and we never signed a contract or anything. We also paid for him as a guest. I don't think you need to send them an invitation if you wouldn't be inviting them anyway.

  • No need to send one...but I'd bring an extra one with you the day of the wedding in case the photographer wants to take a few shots of it.  My photographer used mine in a few stills (i.e. she set up a shot with my bouquet and I think our rings or something).
  • We didn't sign a contract becuase of our history with them so I guess in my mind it's a way to remind them of that date even though I do trust them and my mom called them to confirm everything was still ok.
  • No, invatations are for guests.

I don't care what kind of history I had with a photographer; I would get a contract -- at least a basic one that lists the price and the times.

  • I"m sending one to my photographer because I am required to feed her and she has just gone above and beyond so far helping me and giving advice on other wedding-related items.  I think it's a nice gesture and since we are making our own invites (she recommended the place we got the paper), and she is my favorite vendor, I want to send her one.
