Good Morning! I'm up, even though I'm off. I've got to get my oil change and I prefer to be the first in line. Even if that means getting there at 7am. Then I'm going to workout, run a few errands, an relax for the rest of the day.

I'm freezing in the house.  Grr, winter.  Supposedly this is the coldest morning that we'll have.  It's below freezing.  My throat hurts.

Ooh, but I bought tickets to Louisville in early May!  H and I are going to the KY Derby this year!

Hola ladies!  I wish I had the day off to run errands, I have a ton of stuff to get done before this meeting I have tonight at J's preschool.  Yuck.

That's exciting about the KD Mica, I bet it'll be pretty amazing.  Have you ever been?

I like to get there first too, mk. The place I go to does an oil change and car wash, and it's right next to a pet store so I just go see the animals while they are working on my truck.

I'm hoping today is slow like yesterday. I'm not feeling work lately. But in other news, my class officially starts today! I opened the class Monday but there were issues with the roster, so students didn't have access until yesterday afternoon. So far two students have posted in this week's discussion.

I'm excited, but this means now I have to buckle down and work. Read the tests, prepare the discussions. I'm looking forward to it.

Ugh, the guy that's normally at the car place isn't here and the guy that is, is a complete ass. I hate when car guys talk down to you. I get it, it's early, it's not my fault that you don't have a filter for my car and have to go get one, I'm paying you, so just fvcking do it.

We haven't, Stacks.  We were supposed to go last year, but we allowed BIL to guilt-trip us into cancelling.  This year, we won't be so easily swayed!

Why did you BIL not want you to go Mica? Where is everyone? This place is normally hopping in the morning.

I hope yesterday's IT glitches didn't scare people away.

BIL wanted us to host a pig roast at his house.  He bragged to a bunch of his friends, SIL's family and co-workers that this was going to happen without asking us if we were free.  By the time he realized that we had plans, he had already arranged for another of H's brothers and SIL's brother to visit.  He groveled and begged us to postpone our plans.

We ended up being able to sell our Derby tickets, but we lost $150/pp when we cancelled our flights.  Of course BIL didn't reimburse us. 

We ended up taking a short trip to Yosemite after the pig roast, so not all was lost, but I feel like we can do a pig roast at any time, but the Kentucky Derby is only once a year, and if I end up KU and unable to drink a mint julep this year, I will silently curse BIL more than a little bit.

Good morning. I'm freezing too Mica. My Florida blood can't handle this. I am thankful to be living in a house with a garage. It was nice to have the car warmed up before leaving.

Good Morning!

I'm super excited today.  FI and I are going down to Orlando for a conference in February that he's participating in.  I didn't think we were going to have much time to do stuff (as in, I didn't think he'd get that much time off work), but he surprised me last night and let me know he was going to take a couple of additional days off so that we can go to the WWOHP.  I'm very excited about that.

Morning ladies!  We went to the gym nice and early this morning and then I came home to clean up some.   It's freaking freezing here, I was not expecting such a blast of cold compared to how mild it's been this winter.

I hate when car people are like that MK, it grates on me so much.

That sucks that your BIL did that to you last year Mica.  I hope you have fun at the derby this year!

FML I love when they come back with a laundry list of things that need to be done to your car. I need to find a good mechanic. I already know I need new tires and an allignment adjustment. They're saying based on the mileage all of my fluids need swapping, and my shocks will need replacing. He's giving me the list of things because he says he understands no one wants to be dropping close to $2k right after Christmas. I don't want to have to drop close to $2k ever on a car. Especially one that's only 2.5 years old.

Morning!!  I'm super pissed that I didn't check my DD order this morning before I pulled away from the drive thru.  I hate that I check 90% of the time and it's always right and the couple times I don't check, it's fucking wrong.  They gave me some weird muffin instead of my bagel.  Meh

I'm going to be useless today because I'm too excited about my dr's appointment.  Ahh!

Morning!  H and I had to go to my mom's yesterday and take all of my uncle's carnivorous plants down so they wouldn't freeze.  BUT I got to say hi to the ponies all warm in their blankets.  They're so cute and fuzzy. 

MK, I have one oil change place that I'm super loyal to because they treat me like a normal human being.  I love them. 

Mica, I'm super jealous of your KD trip.  Think you can get a big enough hat that I can fit in it?

Happy first day of class, Sesh!  I can't wait to hear how it goes!

The KD sounds like a blast!  I have never ever been, but it can go on the must do list. 

MK I know that this will sound bad, spoiled? maybe, but I do not like to go to the garage with my car.  I like to drive me car, but not maintain my car.  I made it very clear to FI when we first started getting serious that I thought it was a "Man Duty" to take the family cars to the garage.  He agreed and countered with mopping and vacuuming as being "Woman Duties", and I said no, I still need your help with them.  But I will handle all external communications as appropriate, he agreed.  Enough said, he does the majority of the mopping and vacuuming.  Tee Hee

Oh yeah, and Sesh, what a great day for you!  Enjoy this!

H and his dad and brother are pretty handy with cars, thank goodness.  We've done the radiator and fuel pump ourselves on my truck, and if it needs the Lucas stuff we just do the oil change ourselves.  We need to re-do the bushings on the front, too.  The Toyota has a badass warranty so we will not be doing any work on that for a long time.  But my brother works at Toyota, so I have him for when the warranty runs out.

Good morning! I can't believe I am on the first page of a morning thread.

Anyway, I'm back at home and back at work. I'm glad, I was ready to get back to normal. But we had super scary flights yesterday, both of the were really turbulent. On the first leg when we were landing in London the whole descent was so bumpy and foggy which was scary enough, but then as soon as the wheels touched down the pilot took off again because we got hit with a huge gust of wind. Anyway, I'm glad I'm not sceduled to fly again anytime soon. I got my fill yesterday.

Yeah my warranty ran out after just over two years because of all of the mileage I've put on it over the years. Well the guy has redeemed himself. They still don't have the filter and I can't leave so he's given me a free oil change coupon for the next time. He also gave me a heads up that they will be running a buy two get two special on tires this month. I've got to keep my eye on the website. That'll save me about $250. Apparently the tires required for my car a special. Special = expensive

I did not marry a car guy, that's for sure. But my stepdad is, and my stepbrother is a mechanic so I just go to them for my truck. They repair it for less than half the cost of the garage, and I always go to them when other mechanics come out with the long-ass list of things to fix RIGHT NOW or else I'm going to die.

Fezz, I'm wearing socks too. It sucks. I hate socks.

Good morning!  Woke up to an alarm I couldn't figure out how to shut off and then a car battery that was dead.  Good times.  I gotta call my mom to come jump our car so I can take H to the dentist for 11:15.  And I had to walk to work in the 11 degree weather. 

The good news is, the day should really start looking up from here, I'd think.
