I went there on Saturday to do our registry, and it was awesome.  No one followed me, they didn't give me cards, just a great experience.

Yeah, we went on a Saturday evening and the lady didn't even leave the comfort of the courtesy counter. She just showed us how to use the gun, pointed us to the binders full of luggage and china and let us loose in the store. I had already pre-registered at a bridal show, but I don't think that made much difference.

Huh, we didn't get the cards when we registered at BB&B. We also had a wonderful experience.
But yes, most stores will hand those out because they want to make money.

Any store would encourage you to be tacky if it meant more sales for them. They don't care about your etiquette, they care about their money.

I just smiled and took all the stuff from BB&B and Macy's. They're doing their job. Some might actually think they're helping. My nieces use them as scratch paper. I don't see the problem with putting them in shower invites, although when asked, I told my shower hostesses not to. Plenty of my guests are young enough to check the site (most had sites of their own in the last few years) and all our parents know where we are registered or would like gift cards.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. Shopping should always be fun )

We registered at 3 different BB&Bs - two in Paramus, NJ & one in Manhattan, and had a great experience in all of them.  No one pushy, no one following us around, great service when we did need assistance.

We got the cards, and I gave them to my sister who was my MOH.  They went in the shower invitations, which is fine.  I used the ones for her registry when I planned her shower many years ago too.
