Did you drop hints?

Re: Did you drop hints?

  • The only thing my FI knows about the dress is how much I paid for it and that it's white. And that's how it will stay until he sees me walking down the aisle. In fact, the only people who have seen the dress are my BM's and mom...it will be a surprise to everyone else too.

  • Did you FI / DH know anything about your dress? No and I've sworn the women who went shopping with me to secrecy.

  • i wore mine around the house on sevearl occassions before the wedding. i tried it on for H when i brought it home, and modeled it for others that came by who wanted to see it. its just a costume, i think most brides get way to caught up in keeping it secret and the "bad luck if you're seen" superstition.
  • I don't think FI cares much about it honestly. :) I would take him to pick one out if he had any desire to go. We're going to do pictures beforehand, so it's not like it'll be a big secret when we walk down the aisle.

[QUOTE]Huh, guess I'm weird here. H went with me to pick it out. He knows me better than anyone in the world and he could be honest with me. Everyone else just said they loved everything I put on. He told me if it made me look less than flattering, or if I looked like a cupcake. There was one he liked slightly better, but I went with the one I loved in the end.

This! I know he would be completely honest with me and that's why I wonder what he would think. Every now and then he'll come shopping with me and I think it's so funny the way he will comment on stuff. (Apparently his mom took him shopping quite a bit while growing up.) Usually the only things I will listen to are the things he really feels strong opinion about. Things like the fact he loves tall boots, so I own a pair. And he doesn't like frilly ruffles, but I don't either really so I guess that doesn't count.

The other thing that makes me want his input is that he rarely gives it on anything. He is so laid back sometimes it drives me crazy. I can ask him something that I think to be vitally important and he doesn't care. I know, so what, but sometimes I just want him to care. I know that I could have the dress hanging in a closet and he wouldn't even be tempted to look. Me on the other hand, I would drive myself insane with curiosity! Ha

Any way. Thanks for all of your answers. Just another proof of my nosiness.

  • He's seen a few pieces of the dress - I'm making it with his grandma. He got really freaked out when I cut a mock-up out of an old yellow sheet :)
