This exactly. I am a manager at the restaurant where I work but if something like this happened all I would be able to do is pass it on to the RM. I don't have the power to hire and fire people and the RM needs to be the one dealing with this situation

I totally agree that $5 on a $87.50 bill would have been ridiculous had that been the only tip. But I was totally willing to fix the misunderstanding, and took cash out of my wallet immediately. At the time it didn't even strike me that what she was doing was TOTALLY inappropriate and rude but I was just like, hey, whatever, I'll tip her.

The manager called me back and said that my card had only been charged $92.50. I missed the call and it went to voicemail, so I'm going to wait and see when it clears, then call back and discuss her behavior yet again.

Hey dobs, long time no see!
Its rude that she complained about the tip. Its illegal that she changed the tip. What a biitch. That is why when I use a card and tip in cash, I always write -0- under tip and rewrite the total. People are assholes.
