Tipping Advice?

I am down to the wire and realize I have no idea how to tip the vendors in my wedding.

I booked a wedding package with a single person who serves as the officiant, provides the license, flowers, cake, etc. She then contracted the limo/photos and a videographer. Her fee with my add-ons is around $1,300, of which I know $300 is for the videographer. I'm not sure what amount is allocated for the limo driver/photographer (this is one person). I should point out that working with her has been a bit of a nightmare - difficulty getting calls returned, very disorganized, etc.

How much is an appropriate tip for each of these three people? I could do a percentage for the videographer, but don't know what amount to base a percent on for the limo driver/photographer. And to be perfectly honest, I don't want to tip her at all, although I realize that's probably in very poor taste.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Re: Tipping Advice?

  • Honestly,  I would ask her for a breakdown of the individual charges.

Vendors should be tipped 15 - 20% depending on their performance.

We tipped the limo drivers 17 1/2% which was in their contract but FOB did tip the driver of our car extra because of the great care he took making sure the bride's dress was secure from wrinkling.

You should tip the coordinator according to her performance.  If she's a bad as you say, I wouldn't tip more than the bare minimum.
