Yeah, we've been together since my freshman year of high school. By the time we get married, we'll have been together for 7 years!

You two have been with your Fi's along time which makes me feel bratty for wanting to be engaged now. I have lots of friends who got married at 18, 19, 20 so it makes me feel ancient but I'm glad we didn't get married then because looking back, we were not really ready.

You're not bratty at all. If FI had proposed when I was 18, I would have said yes. And it wouldn't have been a good thing. We've both changed SO much since high school and throughout college-had we gotten married that young, we probably would have had some serious growing pains. You were smart to realize that ahead of time.

Youre not bratty. We were together a little over 3 1/2 years when we got engaged. I was smart enough to wait though, thank god. We should be getting married in September but we had to push it back to April of next year because of my health.

I can  not imagine getting married at 18. My mother was married at he age of 17 to my father who was 21.(still together today) Can.not.imagine.

Yea, all my friends (with the exception of 1) who got married young are still together (granted its not been that long..)
