Cash as Gifts....

We have everything we need in the kitchen; we have all the linens and ‘items’ traditionally asked for in a wedding registry.  What we don’t have is our very own home to put them in.  We rent, more than anything we want a down payment on our first home.  Is it possible to tastefully ask for money; and not register for things we do not need?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Cash as Gifts....

  • If you really don't want gifts just do not register.  Do not ask for money.  If anyone asks what to get you tell them you are just saving for a down payment on a house.  Most will take the hint.  However, be aware that most people will buy you gifts anyways and if you don't register you may receive things you don't like or want.
