Good morning!

Re: Good morning!

  • I know I'm a little late, but I'm here now.  This morning already feels sucky, made worse by the fact the weather was AMAZING for the first time in so long and I'm stuck inside all day.  I haven't even turned on the lights in my office yet.  I'm going to sit here in the dark until 7:30.  Its just the way its going to be.

  • TR, I was just stalking your Mexico photos. THEY ARE SO CUTE.

And you'll be ok if you skip the gym for like...a year. You look great!

  • I'm having the gym talk with Mr Stack as we speak.  We're FOR REAL getting back on track this weekend.  (we've said that the past 3 weekends).  But for real, for real this time.  LOL.
  • Been up since 5 for feedings, grocery listing, and coupon clipping based on the weekly ad.  We're going grocery shopping again today to see if we can piss off any old ladies in the parking lot. ;-)

haha thank you!  It's more for being in shape than losing weight, kwim?  Because even at this weight, if I let it go too long, I'll get winded just running up the stairs!

  • Good morning!

Oh please don't say the "g" word...I've been terribly slacking.

Work right now and then home to finish the damn invites.  They're not going out for another week, but FBIL's wedding is next weekend and we're leaving earlier in the week for MA (long weekend, yay!) so I want to have them all done and stamped before we go.

He actually went to Ohio University for photography so it's, like, his job.  If he had a job that is :)

  • Yeah, well...I have a matron (I HATE THAT WORD) of honor dress I have to fit into in T-44 days, so I have to work off the beer, cookouts, margaritas, and overall fun I've had all summer. Hence, the gym is not longer an option, but moreso mandatory.

I didn't gain back the weight I lost before summer, but I didn't lose it like I had been before golf season started. Embarassed BACK ON TRACK.

  • TR, I would LOVE an extra 40 minutes of sleep, but I'm not sure my body would let me do that. I usually wake up about 5-10 minutes before the alarm goes off. Ticks me off, but what can you do?
  • I'm so unfamiliar with the gym anymore that I spell it jim now.

I definitely lost all motivation about 2 weeks before my wedding.  I think I've put 10 pounds on since then, luckily I lost like 25 before.  I have a wedding this weekend in my hometown, and I'm wearing the dress I wore to my bach party.  Its at my parents house so I can't try it on, and I'm just praying that it fits.  Or else I'll be going shopping Saturday morning.

  • Stacks - that's cool! :)  My cousin went there, too, but she's way older than you, she's 36 or 37.  Tommy gets pissed when he says he went to Ohio and people go, "Go Buckeyes!"

Fish - thanks, I'll definitely pass that along! :)

  • It's so hard going back to the gym after you've been off for a while. At the end of July I hurt one of my knees running so I took the rest of the week off.  Then, on Sunday, the day before I was planning on going back, I smacked into the corner of our bed frame and banged up my other knee (worst pain I've ever felt, by the way).  So I took that week off.  Then, I went on vacation, which I count as a free pass.

Last week was my first week back and the first time I went I wanted to die.  I really hated every second of it.  But it's gotten a little bit better since then.  But I still don't really like it.
  • Did someone say Jim?

  • Good morning! So I guess we're all on a gym kick, huh? I started working out again last night for the first time since I started eating differently. Needless to say, I can't really feel my legs today. But I'm doing it again tonight! And every weekday until I hit my goal. Speaking of which: as of this morning I have officially lost 10 pounds. Woot.
  • Good morning! I am trying to figure out a way to tactfully respond to an email from a friend regarding a bachelorette party.  We are going out of town (12 of us), and she wants to put 3-4 people in each hotel room.  One of the girls and me have decided to split a room between the two of us.  She is insisting we do not book our own room and do 3 to a room.  My initial response is:  "When people are paying their own way, you can not dictate how they spend their money.  It is really not up for debate, I was simply giving you the courtesy to let you know that you can take the 2 of us out of the list for the rooms."

  • KJB - I probably would write exactly what you said.  As a grown woman I would much rather spend the extra money to share a room with who I wanted and who I was comfortable with.  Forced sleepovers and room sharing went out of style for me when I stopped going on weekend soccer tournaments.

Yeah, I mean, when I was 19 and on spring break, it was one thing.  I'm 29.  As much as I love my friends, I just want my own bed and space.  This party has been one thing after the other.  I can't wait for it to be over, which is a shame cause I was really looking forward to it.

  • What exactly are you doing as far as eating differently Manda?  My diet is the next that is getting changed.

<div>Sorry ladies, we had an internet outage at work for the last 20 minutes. Thanks for all of the encouragement, though! I really do appreciate it. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div><div>
</div><div>Stacks- Five days out of the week I eat 99% fresh produce. Fruits, veggies, beans, you name it. The other 1% is lean meat or cheese and sometimes peanut butter. Because I would pretty much die without peanut butter. Then one day I cook at home for Mr. Panda and myself. Usually grilled meat with a vegetable on the side and maybe a starch like a potato. Finally, I get one day out of the week when I can eat whatever the hell I want, usually from a restaurant. This week it will be on Sunday, when I am going to get my favorite French toast at a local place. </div><div>
</div><div>Michael Pollan is a food expert and I've adopted his mantra of "eat food, not too much, mostly plants". I don't feel like I'm really denying myself because there are so many different kinds of fruits and veggies that I never get bored. However, I've noticed that now when I eat a heavy meal or junk food I don't feel so great after. Which sounds like a good thing, but really, it makes me a little sad. Because I love food. I loooooove it. And now I don't even want some of my favorites. It feels like a breakup almost. </div><div>
</div><div>And that was a novel. Sorry about that.</div>
