I had a pretty good weekend. On Satuday I went to have my dress altered and then we saw Bridesmaids which I highly recommend. Then on Sunday it was nice outside and I actually got to lay out for a few minutes. And I got my first official wedding presents, which was awesome. I even got the thank you notes in the mail already, I feel so accomplished.

My favorite sandwich is definitely caprese.

Manda, have you ever been to Jettie's? It's in the Palisades, on Foxhall, and from your description of your favorite sandwich I'm pretty sure you would love it.

Morning ladies!

Highlight of my weekend?  Actually involves a sandwich so watch me combine questions!  H and I made chicken caprese sandwiches with balsamic dressing on Friday night.  On this really good rosemary ciabatta bread I got at the store.  It's a sad highlight to my weekend, but it is now my favorite sandwich.  Otherwise my weekend was pretty boring.  H worked a lot, I did some cooking (will NEVER cook meatballs again) and cleaning.

Rosie, those are some serious shoes, you're going to look HOT at your RD.

OH!  And on Saturday we got the invitation to crazy friend's wedding.  That's on August 13.  The RSVP date is July 1st.  I smell a B-list situation.

They were just a total pain in the ass.  I've never made meatballs from scratch, but I found this low-cal recipe with spinach and decided to try it.  So I bought the meat on Friday, it had a sell-by date of the 13th (Friday).  I got it out yesterday and it had turned a little brown, but I've had that happen before and Googled and found out that that doesn't mean anything.  But I smell it anyway, like get a really good whif and I'm so paranoid that I can't decide if it smells bad or just like raw meat which doesn't exactly smell like roses, you know?  But I decide it's probably ok and plus I already had the bread crumbs, egg and spinach in the bowl so I went ahead and made them.

Then it was taking for-ev-er for them to cook in the frying pan and it said to cook them all the way through, but how was I supposed to know without cutting them all up and ending up with meathalfballs?  So I was all freaked out about that and probably over cooked those.  And that was taking so long that I decided to just throw the other half of the meatballs in the oven to bake and when I was turning those over, I burnt the side of my thumb on the oven and dropped a meatball into the oven which I then had to fish out (carefully).

And then I tasted one when they were done and they don't even taste that great and of course, I can't decided if they don't taste that great because the meat WAS in fact bad or because it's a low-cal recipe with only spinach and garlic.

That was long.  But it was traumatic.  And the moral of the story is I will only buy frozen meatballs from now on.

Morning Ladies!!

I had my second bridal shower yesterday, thrown by my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. I was a little nervous because it was all the women from the grooms side (Plus a few of Fi's and my mutual friends), so there were a lot of women I didn't know. But MIL insisted on name tags so I would feel more comfortable and not have to remember a bunch of names, haha

Instead of passing all the gifts around to each person, FI's Aunt made the most ridiculous table display ever.

It was a seriously good day. And tomorrow, a few of Fi's and my mutual friends and I are going on a road trip to visit FI! It's very last minute, I'm pretty excited!

Morning ladies!  I am back, slightly more tanned (and mostly un-sunburned) from my bach party in Ft. Lauderdale.  So I had a lovely weekend and most definitely am uninterested in hanging out in my little cubicle today.

Morning. I did come in to some crazy, that's for sure.

Rosie, I have the Candie's version of those shoes. I wore them to J&K's wedding. They were a pinkish beige and instead of having a buckle on the side, had a velcro fastener with a big button for show on the outside. They were so comfortable. And I believe, just as tall (but the platform part makes them comfy). My knee wasn't really agreeing with me the next day, but oh well.

I was incredibly lazy all weekend. Max was my cohort. John's gone on an ATV trip, so it's just us. The only thing I accomplished on Saturday was to repark the Miata so it was backed up in the driveway. We did actually go out on Sunday - PetSmart, and I picked up dinner from the Outback. I am hooked on their Chicken Flatbread. It was too chilly to put the top down, which is how Max likes to ride in it.

OMG. I'm watching The  Today Show and there is a couple that is throwing a joint fancy party together to celebrate the end of their marriage. Do you bring a gift to that?
