tin pails with roses?

As part of my ceremony decor, I was wanting to use my fall colored roses and the little silver/tin pails, that would hang from every other pew. My mom says that if I want to use the roses then I need to use something other than the pails, because the roses are formal and the pails are more natural and laid back. I also like the idea of pomanders. So would the roses and the pails not go together?

Re: tin pails with roses?

  • I kinda see what she is saying but I just googled images "roses pail" and there are quite a few different ways you could do it.  There was one that had the roses in a copper color pail that was really pretty and would go well with your fall colors. What is the formality of your ceremony? indoors or out? are roses the only flowers you're using?
  • Can you add some other more casual flowers to your roses to make them look more rustic/casual? Like this? http://pics.boards.weddingbee.com/865.0130.jpg.resize
  • Roses go with just about everything and i don't believe that they are really considered a "formal" flower. I think they would be fine in a tin pail.
  • the roses are the only flower we will be using. formaliy well my BMs are wear floor length dress and the guys are going to be in tuxes, but the ceremony will be around 330 pm. We are very laid back people. I didnt think it would be that big of a deal. thanks for the input!
  • My daughter is doing something very similar.  I love that look!
