no pork for you!

Hey ladies,

FI and I are planning our dinner menus right now.  We are allowed 3 entrees one of which will be a veggie option.  We took a few close friends and family to our tasting and out of the 6 of us 5 LOVED a the chicken dish wrapped in procuttio.  The other chicken dish was too dry and not at all worth it.  The only issue is that a few disdant members of FI's family do not eat pork (maybe 10 at most).  How do i communicate that there is pork on the chicken?  I dont want to nix my favorite choice of meal for what 10 people might not even select since there is a beef and veggie option as well as an assortment of other food.  Do i list the full meal description on the RSVP?  I just dont want anyone unhappy on the day of  because they didnt know there was pork at play.

Re: no pork for you!

  • I'd just call it Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken. Short and informative.

[QUOTE]You don't need to list a full description on the rsvp card. You could do something like this: Please initial next to your entree selection ___ prosciutto wrapped chicken ___ sesame ginger salmon ___ eggplant parmesan Or is it possible for the caterer to make 10 chicken dishes without the prosciutto?

This is what we did.  And then for people with dietary restrictions, we went back to the venue to adjust their meal choices.
