Where is everyone?

It's 7:30 and pitch black out.  Makes me quite sad.  I am extremely happy that it is warm enough to have the windows open though.  I'm looking for a movie to watch on Netflix and thinking about what I should make for dinner.  What is everyone up to?

  • I'm here.  Just sliced my finger open cutting up apples for pie.  I really hope I don't have to go get stitches :(

  • We just got home from an emergency food run to Petsmart. I totally spaced that we were completely out of food for Oz. $50 later, he's a happy boy now. :)
  • Bummer! Yeah, I've been doing Weight Watchers for about a month, so I've had to avoid/give up some of my favorites (buffalo chicken nachos, anyone?) I had a stuffed portobello mushroom for dinner that I picked up at the deli. It was okay, but I think I could have made better with stuff I had in the fridge.
  • I'm here, sick as a dog.
I love Netflix. We just got it. We watched Cool World this weekend.

  • Thanks cupcakes! Will definitely try that

[QUOTE]Yep.  Right beside my fingernail, too.  I've got it taped up now and hoping the bleeding stops!  The mixed drink I was having at the time has nothing to do with the cut...swear...lol

Well at least up that high, tendons shouldn't be involved, so that's good :)

    Hi, Jill
    Howdy KJB

Just put down Baby Bee for bedtime. Well, pre-bedtime.  She'll be up around 10 or 11 to eat and then she'll sleep through the night. Now I'm folding laundry.

I've just been using MyFitnessPal.com to track calories and exercise and everything.  I lost 6 pounds, which is good, I have about 30 more to go :(  I threw some chicken in the oven, not really my favorite, but I'm trying to use up all the food in the house.  And I'm just too lazy to go to the grocery store :)

  • Digiorno's has two flat crust pizzas that you can buy at the grocery. Tuscan Chicken and Pepporoni and Bell Peppers. We get the pepporni one. It feeds FI and I and is around 300ish calories a person. It's not bad if you're craving pizza and want something semi-healthy! Sometimes I eat a salad with it if I'm especially hungry.

Sugar helps cauterize the wound, and stops the bleeding. If it's not deep enough for stiches (and even sometimes if it is) FI and I put Super Glue on our cuts. He's a Chef, and he can't have band-aids on his fingers, or else he has to wear a glove. Gloves are a PITA, so if you put Super Glue on it, 1) There's no risk of contamination, and 2) Nothing will get in the wound to infect it.

    I love living with a Chef.. :)

  • I'm being super bad and just had buffalo chicken dip for dinner. that's it. Meanwhile, H is at the gym and will come home and I will make him fish, broccoli and brown rice. I suck hard.

  • Question: how do I know if it's deep enough for stitches?  Pizza sounds amazing btw.

  • I live out of laundry baskets.  There are 2 sitting in my bedroom, full of clean clothes.  In my defense, I change into scrubs as soon as I get to work, so it's not like I'm walking around all day in laundry basket clothes.  I'm really hoping I can send my laundry out to be done on our cruise in a few weeks - I really don't want to do laundry on vacation!

  • Hi B! It's awesome that Julia's sleeping through the night already-the little girl that I nanny for is almost 9 months old and isn't a very good sleeper, and her poor parents are still getting up with her at least once a night

Good for you! I've lost about 10 lbs so far, and would like to lose at least another 20, which should be interesting since I'm supposed to order my dress in December...hopefully I'll be closer to my goal weight by then so they don't end up ordering a totally wrong size. I'm kind of "blah" on chicken too, but we bought a ton of new spice mixes, like beer can chicken seasoning, and that has seemed to make it more tolerable.
  • Sundried tomato vinaigrette can really add some flavor to chicken. I like to chop mine up into 1 inch squares, marinate it for awhile, and then throw them on kabobs and grill them. They're sooo tasty. It's good on veggies too for the grill.

I have one of those 200 calorie/serving things in the freezer.  But I am craving some delicious, cheesy, gooey deep dish.

  • Ali - Can you close the wound? Does it gape at all, or pucker? I know this is a little weird, but if you can't close it properly, or it's too large / long, you need stiches.
  • Hi!  I just got done with dinner and we are watching the Twins play.

Yeah I eat the single serving Pizzas by Lean Cuisine a lot. I haven't tried the Dig. brand yet. However, the flat crust stuff is much better than the Lean Cuisine stuff. We have a Pizza Pizzazz that we cook it with instead of an oven.

I actually threw some white wine, chicken broth, basil and sundried tomatoes in there, it smells good at least :)  I am somewhat obsessed with sundried tomatoes.  Which is really funny because I HATE regular tomatoes.

Pizza Pizzazz is THE BEST THING EVER.  H makes a delicious pesto/sundried tomato/fresh mozzarella pizza on there.  Oh so good.  We registered for a new one because we had really worn the old one out.  Those suckers can be hard to find!

  • Morning (oh, umm, I mean evening for you guys!) girls!

All of this talk about food is getting me hungry! H and I spent the morning cleaning and we're going to head out to do some grocery shopping and go to the doctors to figure out what is continuing to make us sick (my bet is on glandular fever). How is everyone?

  • TheSun - what is glandular fever?  It doesn't sound fun.
I'm pretty good - my day at work is not going to be any fun tomorrow, so I'm dreading that.  But, I have wine.  So for now, I am fantastic.

  • Oh, I think you guys call it something different... mono? Basically Nick and I have both had recurrent flu-like symptoms for the past 5 weeks now. At first I thought it was just the flu, and then I thought we were super-unlucky and had caught it again... but this is my 3rd time being sick and Nick's 4th, so I'm pretty sure that it's not random catching of colds/flus.
