Ok. Today my friend was asking me about my family camping trip this weekend. After I told her about it, she says "H and I are buying a tent, so please invite us next time, if you want". This irritated me- I go camping on the weekends with my husband and kids. A big family vacation isn't in the budget this year, so these little weekend trips ARE my family vacation for the summer. Todd says it's just her way of saying "that sounds fun, we'd like to go sometime". I say it's rude to invite yourself somewhere, let alone on a family vacation, and her phrasing (invite us if you want) puts me in the awkward position of either inviting them along when I don't want them along, or finding a way to say "nope, don't want you there". So what say you, E? Was she rude, am I too uptight, or is it somewhere in the middle?
