How would you feel?

Re: How would you feel?

  • Both of my suggestions have been mentioned, so I will just second putting a blurb in the program....also maybe saying SOMETHING orally after the ASL vows (if pleasing your mom is important to you...as a guest I totally would love the ASL).

My little bro goes to Gallaudet.  :)

  • I would be a little bit confused as to why you/ fi/ priest couldn't sign and speak at the same time, but it totally makes sense the way you explained that, so I wouldn't change it.  And people that know you probably would understand and not be confused.  Do it how you feel comfortable.  Nobody will be offput enough to feel "cheated" or anything like that.  People will understand and I'm sure everything will be lovely.

  • I'm late to the party; sorry.  I think it would be absolutelyl lovely and moving.  I agree with what Sarahnumbers had to say about your mom's perspective; very insightful.  I also like the idea of saying just a few, very meaningful, word out loud.  Whatever you choose, though, will be wonderful.
  • i say go for the signing and dont let the others sway your opinions on this.  i see it as no different than a greek orthodox wedding that is all in greek or our wedding which had the mass in latin (although the vows were in english).

people will still see you witness yoru vows, and i think its important that you give those vows to each other in whatever language you both speak.  if ASL is the language teh two of you use, tehn taht's what your vows shoudl be in.
