LOL!  H and I saw that commercial last night.  It seems like it's targeted to college grads.  I'll be you anything (not really!) a few wedding couples will have it.

It already exists. 'Hatch my home' or some nonsense like that. There was discussion of mortgage registries over on the CC thread too...looks like everyone is trying to get a piece of the wedding industry pie.

If I knew someone who seriously set up a 'build my house' registry, I would go to Home Depot, buy them a 2x4, wrap it, and set it up on the gift table. I halped!
