Last minute request for a +1???

Ok, so someone please tell me if I'm being a b*tch about this.  My one GF who is coming to the wedding, texted me a few days ago (13 days before the wedding)and said, "please change my RSVP to 2, thanks".  No warning, no phone call, no previous discussion, nothing.  I replied and asked "who, what, when?" and she got so mad at me and went into this big thing about how she wouldn't just bring anyone to wreck the wedding.  It has nothing to do with that!  Now, initally back in April she was invited with an "and guest", but rsvp'd as 1 because she wasn't dating anyone at the time.  The guy she wants to bring she met at my bachelorette party LAST weekend and had known him for 5 days before deciding she was bringing him to my wedding.  My seating charts are done, place cards made....so I said no and that I was sorry.  She sent me a text saying that it was odd that I can't make this accomodation for her and she's going to need some time to get over it.  Really?  Now she's ignoring me!  Am I crazy or is she completely out of line???  She's a grown woman acting like a teenager!  Besides the fact that she is sharing a room at the hotel with another one of my GF's and didn't even discuss it with her that she might not be sharing a room had I said yes!!!!

Ok, I think I just needed to vent.  I mean, I specificially didn't have a bridal party for my wedding to avoid any and all drama and then this pops up 2 weeks before and throws me off.  9 days to go!

  • You were right to say no.  It'd be different if she'd already rsvp'd for two and all you had to do was make a new place card. She's totally being a baby about it .  If she wants to pout and not show up, that's on her to look like a jerk.

Stillundecided, I totally would have said no to that too. I'd totally sit them way in the back of the reception hall. Like the last table to be served.  And watch they add +3 and they'll be no shows.

  • Thanks everyone!  I've politely and as kindly as possible explained to her why we had to say no and she's still mad.  Honeslty, I am upset but I'm just going to have to let it all roll off.  I'm not stressing about it or her any more :)
