rehearsal dinner vs rehearsal brunch

My younger sister is graduating from high school the afternoon on the day before before our wedding. The venue is booked Saturday evening anyway, so having a rehearsal actually at the venue is out. Is it rude to have rehearsal in the morning and then have a rehearsal dinner instead of a traditional rehearsal dinner? The schedule would then be rehearsal, reherasal brunch, my sister's graduation, then the wedding the next day.

My only concern would be that the rehearsal would be on a Friday, requiring people to have to take off work (if they weren't already planning, too).

Could you do it the night before the graduation (two days before the wedding)?  Of course that could also mess up people who are traveling.

ETA:  But good job on being considerate of your sister!
  • echen, I think that sounds like a great idea.

  • Since your wedding is on a Sunday.. I think Friday night or Saturday morning is fine.

It all depends on your guests.  OOT guests may prefer Saturday morning to give them more time to travel.  Friday may be preferred by people who have plans on Saturday (or like to sleep in after late night festivities)

Just pick what works for your WP.. but it doesn't HAVE to be the night before.
