FI is a groomsman in one of his best friends' wedding SATURDAY. He turns to me about 30 minutes ago and says, "Sometime tomorrow, we have to go pick up a gift, I think." :-/
I hadn't been thinking about a gift because it's been a busy month, I've been planning my own wedding, and I have never been in a wedding, so I my stretched-thin-brain-cells have forgotten all the wedding etiquette needed for attending other people's weddings!
Actually, our 2-year-old is the "ring-bearer" for this wedding as well (I put that in quotes because I have no doubt that my toddler will refuse to bear any rings), so we actually have two household members in the wedding.
Since he is in a wedding, what is the appropriate kind of gift? theknot.com gift-giving guide says that gifts for a close friend are generally gifts in the $100-150 range. Is this still true when you are in the wedding? I feel like it is really too late for me to do anything clever and thoughtful, so I'll really just have to run out and grab something off the registry.
