Wedding registry

How do I let people know where we are registered?
We don't have a website. Word of mouth will work for the local guests, but I'm not sure how to get the word out to the out of town guests.

Also, do I send lodging information to all my guests six months before the wedding, or do I make an insert for my invitations?

Re: Wedding registry

  • Your OOT guest will either call and ask and/or go out and do  search on the internet at  stores in your area.  Do not put this information into your invitiation.

Lodging information can be sent to your guests as an insert in your invitations.  If your wedding is on a date that lodging may become limited you my want to get it out there earlier via an email, snail mail, etc.

Many, many, many people will check the normal places for a registry (BB&B, Target, Kohls, Penney's, Macy's) online and if they don't find anything they will either ask you or a parent, sibling, friend.  Otherwise they will just give you money and then you can make a purchase with the money.
  • What Ski said.

If people want to get you something, they will find out where you're registered.  That information will spread word of mouth.  Or, they'll just give you cash, probably.

  • well, I know personally I always check before I ask.. it takes 2 seconds to look up someones registry online.. I always check macys, BB&B and target... I usu buy a gift for the shower off the registry and then give cash at the wedding. But, ppl will either find out, or just give you cash. Mostly the people that don't know to look and where wouldn't buy off a registry anyways.

Don't put it on invites that's tacky. They will ask u or ur mom. I registered for eshower bc people kep asking me where I was registered and insisted I register somewhere when I told them I wasn't registered, but I did not advertise o anyone who didn't ask. People who don't know where u are registered will prob just give a bb and b or target gift card or money anyway

This.  As long as you aren't registered at an off-the-beaten-track place, people are going to look at these sites first because they're common registry locations.  Or they'll give cash.

I recieved a wedding invite with the registry printed on the back.  It was gross.
Also got a birth announcement with the same thing.  Really??
