How do I let people know where we are registered?
We don't have a website. Word of mouth will work for the local guests, but I'm not sure how to get the word out to the out of town guests.
Also, do I send lodging information to all my guests six months before the wedding, or do I make an insert for my invitations?

Re: Wedding registry
Lodging information can be sent to your guests as an insert in your invitations. If your wedding is on a date that lodging may become limited you my want to get it out there earlier via an email, snail mail, etc.
[QUOTE]Many, many, many people will check the normal places for a registry (BB&B, Target, Kohls, Penney's, Macy's) online and if they don't find anything they will either ask you or a parent, sibling, friend. Otherwise they will just give you money and then you can make a purchase with the money.

This. As long as you aren't registered at an off-the-beaten-track place, people are going to look at these sites first because they're common registry locations. Or they'll give cash.
I recieved a wedding invite with the registry printed on the back. It was gross.
Also got a birth announcement with the same thing. Really??
