what to send??!! long

so when FI and i originally asked his parents who we needed to invite from their families, they had told us that grandparents were just fine and no one else (drama comes up blah blah blah plus FI Never sees these people anyway).

well now, his parents are saying that we are going to need to invite at least one of his dad's brothers so that his mother will have a ride (3 hours away) or else plan on her not even coming, which i hate becuz i would like to have more than just his parents and bother there for family since my entire family will be there.

i have no problem with adding people budget-wise (i have cut every corner possible to allow for things like this to come up)  my question is, with my invites, i only ordered Just enough inner envelopes for the current guest list.  I do have extra inserts and ribbon to make any extra invites still look pretty, but i am worried (since their side of the family Is so dramatic)  that if i dont send the extra inlaws the exact same invitation that i am sending his parents, brother and gparents, or do i just send them without the inner pocket envelopes?

sorry for the novel, but hey i used paragraphs right?

Re: what to send??!! long

  • Can you just buy similar sized envelopes at a store and use those as inner envelopes?  If not, I woudln't worry too much about it.  Do you think they will compare the invites?
  • If you'rethat worried about it and can't find an envelope subsitute at a store, why not just take one "real" invitation from your side from someone you know won't care and send it to his uncle who you think will care.

Yes, but proper spelling, punctuation and capitalization would have nice.

    Ditto!

Seconding also that you can probably find simple similar sized envelopes for not much money- and you may need them, for addressing mistakes!

Maybe if you're going to get on someone's case for proper spelling, punctuation and capitalization you should proof your own response.

You are right.  I missed the word 'been'.  However missing one word is way better than constant misspells, excessive run-on sentences and the inability to use a shift key.

Yes, this is a message board.  This an international message board.  The way that you communicate is the way that people perceive you.  If you are writing like a 8 year old, that is how I am going to perceive you.  Just because you are on a message board does not mean you should drop your IQ by 100 points.  Hitting a shift key, using punctuation and spell-checking should be done every time you put anything written out in the world.

But, if you want to look like you have 3rd grade education, be my guest.  I am just trying to help you not look like an idiot.

FYI, I understood your post just fine.  Yes, there were some eye rolls and a silent prayer for the proper education of our country.
