Sometimes, I think Lucy has it out for me.

I want to take a nap?  Lucy decides it's the perfect time for playing/potty. And she's OBNOXIOUS about it. I have tried to ignore her, but she just gets worse.

Time to eat? OF COURSE IT'S TIME TO PAY ATTENTION TO LUCY.

It's like, any time I do anything that's strictly for me, she just can't.handle.it. Totally driving me insane.

I don't suppose anyone else notices this?

  • Berkeley is the same way.  Every time I have the slightest opportunity to sleep in or take a nap, if the bedroom door is open, she makes sure that I wake up when she is bored or needs attention.  That is usually when the sun rises.
  • Lucy, stop being an AW!

[QUOTE]My cat will do this as well.  She will sit on my lap when I want to get up.  Like right now.

Haha, this. We will be watching a movie and as soon as it is over, here comes kitty to lay on us and cuddle.

  • Oh yeah. So, Lucy doesn't snuggle. She'll lay next to or on us for a little bit, but then she's all "Let me down. LET ME DOWN. OMG I'm going to FREAK OUT if you don't LET ME DOWN."  It makes me sad.
  • My dog is like that all the time.  Right when we sit down to eat dinner, he wants to go outside.  And we don't have a back door so I have to bring him around the house and outside.
  • I call Cyclops an AW all the time.

Any time I sit down on the couch, he needs to be on my boobs. Not next to me, not in my lap, on my boobs. And he's ten pounds, which means it takes both hands to hold him there, or he'll just sink his claws into my neck. Jerkwad.
  • Opal! I haven't seen you in ages! But that's probably because I'm not around much. How are you?
  • I watch my parents dog a lot. I have learned that I have to shut the door to the bathroom when I use it. As soon as I sit down she tries to jump all over me and thinks it is time to play. Definitely not time.

Berkeley does the same thing.  It makes me sad too.
  • Mica, I came to the conclusion after looking at your Christmas card, that you look just like my SIL.

I hope Lucy grows out of the no snuggle-ness.
  • Heh, I haven't been around much either. It's hard to stay caught up with goings on here even when I do get the time.

I'm doing pretty okay, though. I have kind of a love-hate thing going on with my job, but I'm finally starting to feel a little more settled in here. And we're finally getting around to Christmas decorating, which is helping it feel more like home.

    How are things?
  • Aaand, shiit. DH just dropped a box full of ornaments. Off to go do damage control.
  • If I'm crying, Berkeley will let me hug her for up to two minutes.  Otherwise, she has a one minute snuggling limit.  I can't believe my needy dog can't handle snuggling.

Snippy, are you sure that  all Asians don't just look alike?  ;)
  • Weird, my kid does the same thing. He wakes up the moment I leave the house or get in the shower, and he starts fussing everytime I try to eat.

  • HA! Mica. :) H says all white people look the same. ;)
  • Tory is like the opposite of a no snuggle dog, it is a little ridiculous. She will let you make her the little spoon and she will sleep like that all night if you wanted her to. It is pretty funny.

  • Musu, who wouldn't want to be the little spoon? Tory's a smart pup.
  • Gah. I like that Lucy's mostly independent, but dammit. I got a doggy for snuggle time. She needs to get the memo, asap
  • Our dog does something similar - if he can hear Adam and I talking or laughing or fighting or anything that involves us doing something together he will run from wherever he is and have to be included. Sometimes I want to just have a conversation with my husband without the frigging dog being in the middle. It drives me nuts and I dont know why he does it.
