So at Thanksgiving dinner, my grandma was sitting next to my dear friend (who is Asian- she was born in New York but her family is from Taiwan). At some point during dinner, grandma starting going on and on about "the damn foreigners" and even mentioned something about "those little brown people"- OMG!
Mom choked on a piece of turkey, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor, and my friend (the Asian one) started laughing hysterically! I absolutely can NOT believe my granmda said that! My friend was not offended, all she said was "What? I'm American, I was born in New York!"
The rest of the holiday was more or less uneventful. How about you guys?
