Re: Enjoy...

  • Wow, why would she need to win a bet to be proposed to?! Thats crazy.

  • Winning a bet gets you a proposal?   Asking your family and friends for money so you can win the bet?

This is wrong on so many levels.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

CN: Bride was raising money. If she got to $12.5K, her BF would propose. She fb'd her nearest and dearest asking for $. One such friend posted on WB, linking her YouTube video and fundraising page. Comments came in saying how tacky it was.

Bride found out, posted on WB. Said everyone was horrible, but it was ok as her BF proposed anyway as she was so upset. Has updated fundraiser page. Still asking for $ for wedding.

Reddit found it, loads of comments on YouTube video, now deleted.

  • hahahaha wooowwww, I saw the subject last night when I was cruising around Waiting, but I didn't actually click on it. That bride is horrible and deserves being ridiculed.

  • WFT- the most insane thing is that by the end, posters were being supportive of this horrid idea, bragging about how they donates. I mean...wow....lets just chuck all social norms out the window. Guess I'm gonna need to set up a kickstarter account so FI and can afford a big wedding, since I'm obviously entitled to one for no real reason...

  • My favorite comment: at least they didn't find this on the 'other' website. Can't figure out if they mean a gossip website or TK
  • I cannot believe that people were actually donating to her.

Well, that's Weddingbee for you. Bless their hearts.

<div>If this were on TK first it would have gotten out of hand on here, but I don't think it would have ended up on Reddit, haha.</div><div>
</div><div>My favourite part was the comment from the bride that, "<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;font-family:tahoma, verdana;font-size:13px;line-height:normal;">I sent the link only to close friends, and asked them to share it with <strong>people they trusted, and only if they wanted to.</strong> I see no other way how it would end up on reddit if not for this thread"</span></div><div><span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;font-family:tahoma, verdana;font-size:13px;line-height:normal;">
</span></div><div>Umm.. what? Have you never been on the internet before? Schit gets shared whether you like it or not, and especially when you don't.</div><div>

What I don't gett is that people started sympathizing for her and empathizing with her... AND DONATING TO HER even though they knew the bride was sending messages to 1 dollar donaters that said "Thanks for almost nothing."

<div>I know! I thought it was crazy. I don't care what kind of sense of humour a couple has, it doesn't mean they can solicit donations for their wedding. If you're going to get that butthurt over complete strangers disagreeing with your bad idea then the internet is not for you.</div>

I guess her bf proposed to her before the bet was over bc he felt bad for her getting so upset about all the rude comments. This just keeps getting worse.

Like I said, Weddingbee. This sort of thing can ONLY happen on Weddingbee. They are extremely BSC over there. The Waiting forum helped me maintain a sense of humor (and reassured me of my sanity) while I was waiting for my fiance to propose.
