Fishy - I'm glad you're enjoying it so much.  And I'm sure the changes you're making will be for the better.

Oh yeah - the decisions I just don't give a hoot about regarding wedding planning... Which silverware, which plates, how many apps.  Just feed my guests enough food and make it look good.  My favorite parts of planning was the food tasting and figuring out centerpieces and table names (we named our tables for mountains we'd summitted, favorite hiking trails, and favorite waterfalls we've been to together).

ETA - I liked PICKING the food, just not figuring out the quantities.

[QUOTE]We're going to a wedding (ceremony & reception) in a bar in June. They've never had a wedding there before, so I hope it all works out how she wants it to. Should be a good day.

I think I'd be really nervous to have my weddng at a place that had never done a wedding before... but I'm a worrier by nature, so there's that. I hope it works out for her!

  • I'd be nervous to be the first wedding hosted somewhere too, unless they had someone who'd previously worked somewhere else and done weddings - maybe.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: TK is so old school. : Tangled is actually a super cute movie! I've seen it twice, both with the aforementioned 2 year old niece :) She loves it and I admit I didn't mind watching it again.

<div>My niece (almost 5) won't watch Tangled.  The witch at the beginning scared her the first time my parents tried to show it to her.  It's weird though because I thought that witch looked a lot like the queen/hag in Snow White and my niece will watch that one.  </div>

  • I wish the wedding I'm going to next weekend was at a bar. Or somewhere with a bar. Or even a box of wine. Pretty sure I'm smuggling in a flask.

Dry wedding? I don't understand those. I mean, I guess it's usually a budget thing, but I feel like what's a wedding reception without booze?

  • Trust me, that's the least of things wrong with this wedding. I love my cousin and all, and I know he really had no part in planning, but they are breaking almost every rule in the book.

  • I went to a dry wedding.  They were uber-religious.  The reception was in a church hall.  The food was good.  H won't let me live it down that the only dry wedding and the only cash bar weddings he's ever attended were "my" friends. (and my brother - it's typical in WI to host beer and everything else cash)

First Amendment Knotties was the first spin off board.  The originator is back on the boards as her first marriage failed.  I don't remember her knotname off the bat and I haven't been on
FAK in a year at least.

The knot died for weeks whn everyone walked out in protest to the Knot censorship of a photo she posted.  I deline to comment on that photo though

I don't get this either. Especially because so many people have now done it, it's no longer original. I think it looks weird to have all your bridesmaids wearing nice dresses and then cowboy boots. Just my opinion.

I'm also really curious about the aforementioned photo.

I really don't think it's necessary to discuss the first amendment knotties, and you certainly don't want to go looking for them.

My first marraige was a failure from the get-go, but second time's a charm!!  *cheers*
